ITV 2025 Recap - Thrills Beneath the Stars

From 28 May to 1 June 2025, the campsite at Lake Gedern was once again transformed into a haven for stargazers: the International Telescope Meeting Vogelsberg (ITV) drew hundreds of astronomy enthusiasts from across Germany and neighbouring countries. Between tents, campervans and an impressive array of telescopes, that unique sense of community flourished which makes this gathering so special.

By day, visitors exchanged ideas, tried out new technology and shared their latest observations – and even those without their own kit were well catered for, with experienced amateurs happily inviting beginners to look through their telescopes. When darkness fell, everyone turned their gaze to the night sky together – captivated by the wonders of the universe.

BRESSER with plenty of highlights on site

We were delighted that our large BRESSER stand once again became a central hub at the ITV. Alongside our own brands, BRESSER and EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC, we also introduced new products from Vixen Japan, for whom we are the exclusive distributor.

New and popular products to try out:

  • BRESSER Nebula: The new Nebula 5 and Nebula 6 mounts – developed in partnership with Avalon in Italy – were among the real highlights at our stand. With their superb build quality and Raspberry Pi control, they were praised by visitors as “a first-class product from Italy.”
  • Our new BRESSER PushTo telescopes for beginners also caught the eye of seasoned observers thanks to their straightforward handling.
  • Vixen impressed the experienced crowd with its new generation of wireless mounts and refractors designed especially for astrophotography
  • EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC’s high-end eyepieces and filters were examined closely during the day and put through their paces at night – often directly with visitors’ own instruments.
  • Live solar observing with LUNT H-alpha telescopes provided spectacular views of solar activity and drew countless curious onlookers in broad daylight.
  • And after sunset, EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC’s 20″ Dobsonian offered breathtaking deep-sky views.

Community spirit and enthusiasm

As always, the ITV was not just about technology and telescopes, but above all about people: old friends catching up, new acquaintances being made, and everyone brought together by a shared passion for astronomy. Despite the mixed weather, the atmosphere remained upbeat throughout. One participant summed it up perfectly on the forum:

“Otherwise, it is once again wonderful to chat with all the people … and to enjoy the atmosphere here. So it’s definitely worth coming.”

We couldn’t agree more. Thank you for the inspiring conversations, the wonderful feedback and the time spent together – we’re already looking forward to next time!
