There has never been an easier way to capture stunning astro images: The ZWO Seestar S30 Pro Smart Telescope AP30/160 builds on the celebrated Seestar lineage with a bold step forward. Weighing just 1.65 kg, it is just as compact and travel-friendly as its predecessor – but now packs an entirely new dual-camera optical system that takes astrophotography to a whole new level. Calibration, object acquisition, capture, stacking – the S30 Pro handles the lot, automatically. Whether you're settled on the sofa, stretched out in the garden, or perched at your favourite dark-sky spot, all you need to do is sit back and drink in the universe.
Dual-camera with 4K – a genuine leap forward
ZWO has raised the bar significantly with the S30 Pro. The telephoto camera is built around the Sony IMX585 sensor in the large 1/1.2″ format, covering a 4.6° field of view, while the wide-angle camera pairs the IMX586 sensor with a sweeping 63° field of view. The telephoto sensor alone is four times the size of the one found in the original S30 – which translates directly into more gathered light, cleaner images, and finer detail on even the faintest, most remote objects.
A 4-element apochromatic lens with a 160 mm focal length and ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass renders colours more faithfully and images more crisply than the 3-element design of the previous model. The autofocus takes care of itself, and an integrated triple filter system – dark-field filter, UV/IR cut filter, and a light pollution filter optimised for OIII and H-Alpha – means you can get outstanding results even from the middle of a city. A built-in dew heater keeps the optics clear on damp nights, so nothing stands between you and the stars.
Four capture modes – perfectly tuned for every subject
The S30 Pro offers four dedicated capture modes, each of which automatically dials in the right settings for the job:In Stargazing mode, galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and more are yours to explore.
Solar System mode is fine-tuned for planets and the Sun – always used with the included solar filter, of course.
The brand-new Milky Way & Star Trails mode lets you create breathtaking Milky Way panoramas, star trails, time-lapses, and Milky Way mosaics at the press of a button.
Scenery mode turns the S30 Pro into a capable ultra-telephoto camera during the day.For newcomers, it really is as simple as picking a mode and letting the telescope do the rest.
Smart app control with over 80,000 celestial objects at your fingertips
The Seestar app (iOS/Android) is clean, intuitive, and puts complete control of the telescope in the palm of your hand. One tap is all it takes for the GoTo system to swing the optics precisely onto your chosen target – drawn from a database of over 80,000 deep-sky objects and 600,000 stars, complete with recommendations via the "Tonight's Best" feature. The smart constellation recognition identifies star patterns in your field of view in real time, or navigates straight to a constellation of your choosing. The Plan mode lets you schedule an entire imaging session in advance: the S30 Pro will search, track, and photograph all by itself – even long after you've turned in for the night. Cloud cover forecasts, moon phase data and visibility information all help you pick the best possible moment to observe.
8K mosaics, advanced image processing and 128 GB of onboard storage
The Seestar S30 Pro can automatically assemble 8K Milky Way mosaics – portrait or landscape orientation, triggered with a single tap. The telescope works through a pre-calculated grid of frames and stitches everything together seamlessly.
The new Freeze the Ground feature cleverly separates the foreground from the sky: your landscape stays crisp and natural while the stars are stacked without any trailing – with no manual effort whatsoever.
Automatic noise reduction and Dynamic Background Extraction (DBE) work together to smooth out uneven backgrounds and draw out fine detail, entirely without any input from you.
Images are saved in JPEG or FITS format; videos in MP4 or AVI. With 128 GB of internal storage, there is plenty of headroom for even the longest of nights.
Something for everyone – from first-timers to seasoned imagers
The Seestar S30 Pro is built so that anyone can achieve great results straight out of the box – no prior knowledge required. The automatic modes and guided app walk you through everything. For those who want to go deeper, the S30 Pro is equally at home as a serious imaging tool: individual frames can be saved in FITS format and taken into your post-processing software of choice.
The S30 Pro also supports the open ASCOM Alpaca protocol and works with popular astrophotography platforms such as NINA. With optional accessories, an equatorial mode is available too, compensating for the Earth's rotation and opening the door to longer exposures.
Equally impressive in broad daylight
The S30 Pro is no one-trick pony. By day, it doubles as a versatile camera with both wide-angle and telephoto capability in a single, compact body – perfect for birdwatching, landscape photography, and time-lapse work. Moving subjects – wildlife, trains, aircraft – are tracked automatically and captured in sharp detail. Photo, video, and time-lapse are all on offer in 4K Ultra HD.
The ZWO Seestar S30 Pro AP30/160 is quite simply one of the finest smart telescopes on the market today – and the most enjoyable way to make breathtaking astro images your new normal.

High-Quality Optics Meets Smart Technology
The high-quality apochromat refractor optics of the Seestar S50 ensure exceptionally clear and color-accurate images. The combination of top-notch optics, advanced automatic star recognition, and effective GoTo functionality makes this smart telescope a powerful instrument for night observation and astrophotography – accessible to everyone! The integrated camera supports high resolutions that capture even the finest details in distant galaxies and nebulae.
Focus on the Essentials
The Seestar S50 features an integrated filter change mechanism that can be controlled via the app. By default, the UV/IR-CUT filter is used, eliminating unwanted infrared and ultraviolet light while allowing the crucial H-alpha emission nebula band for astronomical photography to pass through. This results in more contrast-rich images of many deep-sky objects.
Automatic Image Stacking for Razor-Sharp Shots
The Seestar S50 uses the stacking method for creating astrophotos. Multiple individual images are combined or "stacked" in real-time to form a new image. The final image becomes sharper and more detailed as more individual images are combined. Experience how a galaxy millions of light-years away takes shape before your eyes, revealing more details with each passing minute. The result is exceptionally clear images that reveal the depths of space with impressive detail.
For Stacking Pros Too
Already familiar with stacking and prefer to do the image processing yourself? No problem – the Seestar saves each individual image in RAW format in its internal storage on request.

The Vixen SD115IIS is a new 115 mm apochromatic refractor with high-performance Super-ED glass (= SD). The advantage of this SD refractor is its short length and low weight. The FPL53 glass reproduces an extremely clear and sharp image by an exceptionally high degree of elimination of residual chromatic aberrations. The SD glass is designed to bring all beams of violet, red, blue, yellow and green very precisely together on the same plane. The special lens material, reduces chromatic aberration across all colours. The new Vixen SD115SII no longer uses spacer plates, which leads to a significantly better image quality, especially with bright stars. In photographic images, no spikes can be seen on the stars, which were otherwise produced by the spacer plates. In addition, you will be thrilled when you look at the moon or the brighter planets and observe the moon craters pin sharp as well as with extremely high contrast. Also look at the ring planet Saturn or the cloud bands on Jupiter. But of course, brighter deep sky objects such as the Orion Nebula or the Andromeda Galaxy can also be observed in impressive detail. In combination with the new optional SD Reducer HD Kit or SD Flattener HD, this refractor allows illumination with a 44 mm image circle for full format SLR cameras. The older ED81SII, ED103S, ED115S refractors were originally developed for visual observers and photographers using APS-C cameras. However, the new SD series is also optimised for use with full-frame cameras through the use of new inner baffle rings. The large 60 mm eyepiece extension also allows heavy cameras to be attached without tilting. Furthermore, the included folding mirror allows comfortable observation even in unfavourable observation situations and additionally offers a T2 thread for connecting a DSLR camera. This allows you to observe in straight line or at a 90° angle. The carrying handle attached to the tube clamps ensures a secure grip when transporting the telescope. Vixen's very useful Flip mirror diagonal system for finding and framing targets
Modular designed multipurpose telescope, both for observing the sun
in the H-alpha wavelength, as well as for night sky observations. Easy
conversion between the different applications with a few simple steps.
Excellent image quality due to 2-lens ED optics with 70mm aperture for
night sky observation, and 60mm usable aperture for H-alpha solar
observation. With innovative air pressure tuning system, high-quality 2 inch (50.8mm) Rack&Pinion (R&P) focuser, and B1200 blocking filter.Solar observing in H-alpha:The LS60MT/B1200 is a complete telescope for observing the sun in H-alpha light, with 60mm free aperture (no central obstruction) and 420mm focal length.
The H-alpha wavelength is the most impressive way to observe the sun,
showing protuberances at the sun's edge, filaments and flares on the
surface, and much more. An internal Etalon filter achieves a bandwidth of <0.7 Angstrom with the innovative air pressure tuning system Pressure-Tuner.
Tuning is done by slightly changing the air pressure in a pressure
chamber inside the telescope. This changes the refractive index of the
air, making it easy to tune to the H-alpha line. The pressure tuner
guarantees a homogeneous image, without central obstruction, and a
permanently protected Etalon without erosion. A set of collimating
lenses installed in the telescope ensures best performance.Fine adjustment is achieved with a solid 2 inch Rack&Pinion focuser with 10:1 reduction.Blocking-filter is the B1200. The B1200 is very good for visual solar observing, and also for solar imaging. The
star diagonal in which the blocking filter is installed, is equipped as
standard for 1.25 inch eyepieces and with a T2 camera connection.Observing the starry night sky:The
H-alpha Etalon system can be removed from the telescope in a few easy
steps thanks to its modular design. The 2-lens ED refractor can then be
used as a normal telescope with 70mm aperture and 420mm focal length for observation and photography of the night sky. The ED Doublet lens will offer an excellent image. It can be used with a standard 2 inch zenith mirror or other accessories at the R&P focuser, the back focus is 135mm.With an additional Amici prism, the telescope can of course also be used during the day for nature and landscape observations. This makes the LS60MT, with its small dimensions and low weight, also an ideal travel telescope for all applications!More applications:With additionally available accessories the LS60MT offers even more possibilities!- Double-StackThe LS60MT telescope can optionally be upgraded with the additionally available double-stack filters LS50FHa or LS60FHa
(part numbers 0550200 and 0550250). These filters will be simply
screwed on the front of the LS60MT, no additional adapters are
necessary. Thereby a bandwidth of <0.5 Angstrom is achieved for
H-alpha solar observation. Therefore much more details on the solar
surface will become visible.- Solar observing in White-LightIf
the H-alpha unit has been removed, of course either a sun filter to be
installed in front of the objective, or a Herschel-wedge at the focuser
can be used to observe the sunspots in White-Light.- Solar observing in Ca-K wavelengthCertainly,
the Ca-K filter modules from Lunt Solar Systems can also be used at the

Fast 70mm high-performance astrograph F5.5 designed for demanding astrophotographers and observers, featuring 5 lens elements in 5 groups
With its sophisticated optical design incorporating five lens elements in five groups (Quintuplet), including two SD (Super ED) lenses and one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens, this astrograph delivers a virtually aberration-free optical system. The convex lens utilises two SD lenses and a high-refractive ED lens, while the front lens is crafted from a newly developed high-performance lanthanum glass.
Perfect for astrophotography and visual observation This revolutionary astrograph is compatible with digital full-frame DSLRs and even larger 44 x 33 mm cameras. With its fast F5.5 aperture ratio, the 70mm astrograph produces exceptionally sharp, high-contrast, pinpoint stars from the centre to the very edges of the field of view. Not only is it ideal for astrophotography, but it also excels in visual observation, offering a wide field of view for deep-sky objects and delivering stunning detail in planetary observation with high magnification.
Consistently sharp imaging across the entire field The VSD70ss is designed with a long peak range in focus adjustment accuracy, making it easier for astrophotographers to achieve consistently outstanding results. Even if the focus isn’t set perfectly, stars remain round and sharp across the entire image field. The VSD70ss is very temperature-resistant so that you always keep a very stable focus point.
Minimal vignetting for uniform illuminationMost astrographs experience some level of optical vignetting (light gradually diminishes towards the image edges). This is mainly caused by the rear lenses being shadowed by the front lenses. As a result, photographers often need to apply image corrections or capture additional flat frames beforehand. The VSD70ss tackles this issue with large-aperture lenses in the rear elements and preserves over 90% of the light all the way to the edge of its 55mm image circle. The result is uniform brightness across the entire field, eliminating the need for extensive post-processing to compensate for edge darkening.
The VSD70ss features cutting-edge multi-coatings with exceptionally high reflectivity. These coatings have been specially designed to optimise the performance of each individual lens element, ensuring maximum contrast and light transmission without degradation across multiple lenses.
Note: *Mechanical vignetting may still occur depending on the camera system used, particularly due to the camera body or incorrect adapters.
96.7% Strehl for stunning visual observations When paired with a wide-angle eyepiece with low magnification the VSD70ss offers a flattened large field of view. Even with a high-quality wide-field eyepiece with a large field of view, stars appear sharp across the entire field of view during visual observation. At the centre of the field, the telescope achieves an impressive 96.7% Strehl intensity at visible wavelengths—surpassing even the acclaimed SD81SII apochromat with its 95.7% Strehl ratio. This superior optical quality is also evident when observing the Moon and planets at high magnifications.

Modular designed multipurpose telescope, both for observing the sun in the H-alpha wavelength, as well as for night sky observations. Easy conversion between the different applications with a few simple steps. 3-lens apochromatic telescope with FPL-51 glass, 130mm aperture and 910mm focal length - excellent image quality for H-Alpha solar observation and also for observing the starry sky at night.
With innovative air pressure tuning system, good 2 inch (50.8mm) R&P focuser, and B3400 blocking filter.
Solar observing in H-alpha:
The LS130MT/B3400 is a complete telescope for observing the sun in H-alpha light, with 130mm free aperture (no central obstruction) and 910mm focal length. The H-alpha wavelength is the most impressive way to observe the sun, showing protuberances at the sun's edge, filaments and flares on the surface, and much more. An internal Etalon filter achieves a bandwidth of <0.7 Angstrom with the innovative air pressure tuning system Pressure-Tuner. Tuning is done by slightly changing the air pressure in a pressure chamber inside the telescope. This changes the refractive index of the air, making it easy to tune to the H-alpha line. The pressure tuner guarantees a homogeneous image, without central obstruction, and a permanently protected Etalon without erosion. A set of collimating lenses installed in the telescope ensures best performance.
Fine adjustment is achieved with a solid 2 inch R&P focuser with 10:1 reduction.
Blocking-filter is the B3400. The B3400 is good for solar imaging by cameras with very large sensor chips, and can also be used for visual observing.
The B3400 blocking-filter is fix installed inside the 2 inch R&P focuser.
Observing the starry night sky:
The H-Alpha Etalon system can be removed from the telescope in a few easy steps thanks to its modular design. Then the 3-lens apochromatic refractor can be used as a normal telescope with 130mm aperture and 910mm focal length for observation and photography of the night sky. The FPL-51 triplet lens offers an outstandingly low colour aberration image. Common 2 inch star diagonals can be used at the R&P focuser of the telescope.
Please note that the optionally available conversion kit 0551696 is absolutely necessary for the LS130MT version with B3400 blocking filter if the telescope is also to be used at night. The conversion kit is not required for the versions with B1200 and B1800.
More applications:
With additionally available accessories the LS130MT offers even more possibilities!
- Double-Stack
The LS130MT telescope can optionally be upgraded with the additionally available double-stack module LS130MT/DSII (item number 0551690). The DSII system is a internal double-stack module with Pressure-Tuner. Thereby a bandwidth of <0.5 Angstrom is achieved for H-alpha solar observation. Therefore much more details on the solar surface will become visible.
- Solar observing in White-Light
If the H-alpha unit has been removed, of course either a sun filter can be installed in front of the objective, or a Herschel-wedge at the focuser can be used to observe the sunspots in White-Light.
- Solar observing in Ca-K wavelengthThe additionally available "LUNT Ca-K Filter Module for LS130MT" (item number 0551697) can be used on the LS130MT to observe and photograph super-granulation and other effects visible at this wavelength on the sun.
