At our headquarters in Rhede, we offer tours for school classes and kindergartens, allowing the researchers of tomorrow to get their first glimpses into outer space and the microcosm. As part of our cooperation with the local comprehensive school, we regularly invite interested students to explore our company through an internship. And through our participation in the "Adventure Company" project from the Alliance for Family in Rhede, Bocholt, and Isselburg, as well as for Klausenhof, we are pleased to organize inspiring demonstrations and training presentations.

For Environment, Social Issues, and Education – the Bresser Group of Companies Takes Responsibility!

In addition to important scientific work, the extensive educational offerings at the Bochum Observatory are also remarkable. The aim is to excite the entire population about astronomy, space travel, and environmental issues, from kindergarten children to students and interested retirees. Since BRESSER also targets everyone with its diverse product range, we are pleased about a good cooperation.

The Little Scientists' House Foundation is committed to early and good education in STEM subjects. The future-oriented goal: to equip children with everything they need through exploratory learning to think independently and act responsibly. BRESSER wholeheartedly supports such a great project—providing microscopes and accessories for the Research Mobile, which visits kindergartens and elementary schools to explore the microcosm with the children.

Telescopes for a good cause? We're definitely on board! Thus, BRESSER regularly donates telescope tubes and accessories to the organization Stars Shine for Everyone. Inspirational personalities then make something special out of it with their signatures. Participants include renowned scientists, Nobel laureates like physicist Dr. Reinhard Genzel, and astronauts like Alexander Gerst from ESA. The telescopes are then donated to special education schools, where students explore the night sky on lovingly self-made wooden mounts.

Telescopes on six wheels—a great idea! This way, the Mobile Observatory enables many people to make their first contact with astronomy. The events are especially popular in schools and kindergartens, regularly exciting the children. BRESSER is happy to assist by donating suitable products.

We were involved in the creation of the Josef Bresser Observatory, which is named after our company's founder. To this day, it is an honor for BRESSER to support the observatory in Hoxfeld operated by the Borken Star Friends Association in their work.

Soziales und Gesundheit

It is very important to us to share our success with the region and people who need help and can benefit from it. To this end, we participate in the Rhede Business Dialogue corporate network and provide both financial and advisory support to the Rhede store RHEDENSwert. We also donate numerous products each year for various events that are brought to our attention from all directions, such as summer festivals, club parties, charity events, raffles, or tombolas.

In addition, the following organizations are particularly close to our hearts:

In its extensive and important duties, the German Red Cross deserves every support. We want to contribute by regularly donating money and products from our range. Our employees also support the valuable work of this aid organization: they annually donate the remaining cent amounts "behind the comma" of their salaries to the Red Cross. We are pleased about this and additionally match the amount contributed.

We know best what the right optics can change. That's why, through our membership with One Dollar Glasses, we regularly donate money for glasses that are made available to people with poor vision in developing countries for one dollar. Many people can see properly for the first time thanks to this wonderful project.

Almost everyone knows someone in their own circle who has been affected by cancer. Unlike many other types, we can actively help with leukemia. That's why we are fighting together against blood cancer. BRESSER periodically covers the registration costs for employees. We are pleased that as a result, one of our employees became a donor and saved a little girl's life.

We are convinced: Every person deserves a chance and diversity is a valuable asset. That's why we help refugees by offering internships and job opportunities to establish themselves in Germany.

Umwelt

We all have only one Earth – and it is more threatened than ever before. At BRESSER, we are privileged to daily reveal the hidden beauties of nature. And we want future generations to be able to marvel at the wonders of the world too. That's why it's clear for us: We are committed to environmental protection!

Those who want to make a change must start with themselves! Therefore, BRESSER is replacing light fixtures with LEDs, reusing cardboard boxes, reducing the amount of fully colored printed cardboard, using delivery slip pouches made of 100% recycled film, opting for online catalogs, and eliminating plastic in product packaging. We are pleased that every employee supports our commitment to responsible environmental management. Because we all want to explore nature for a long time to come!

An outstanding corporate environmental management program is ÖKOPROFIT. We are proud that BRESSER was recognized as an Ökoprofit winner in 2014 for systematic and consistent changes in the name of environmental protection.

JNF-KKL is Israel's largest and oldest environmental organization. Through numerous joint projects with German partners, it builds a bridge between Germany and Israel. A special friendship for a good cause: the conservation of nature. Whether it's parks and forests, restored archaeological sites, or playgrounds and educational facilities—BRESSER is happy to help!

Because nature conservation is close to our heart, we support NABU. For over 10 years, we have been supporting the Rhede local association with in-kind and financial donations. We also participate in the "Old Cell Phones for More Environmental Protection" campaign, initiated by NABU and Telefonica. During our joint spring flower campaign, we planted a total of 1200 flower bulbs around our company building, creating a sea of blossoms and bringing smiles to the faces of our employees. Humans in harmony with nature: That is our common goal!
