is the brightening of the night sky by artificial lights, such as
streetlights. The night sky is not really dark in the vicinity of towns
or cities, which reduces the visibility of objects beyond the solar
systems enormously. Depending on the type of the celestial object it is
possible to increase the contrast dramatically by blocking the annoying artificial light. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC O-III filter uses a characteristic property of the so called emission nebulae.
Those objects glow in special colours, the so called emission lines.
Those emission lines are linked to chemical elements - in this case
oxygen. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC O-III nebula filter blocks all other colours (and thereby nearly all of the artificial light) and only the two emission lines of the oxygen can pass the filter.
The result is astonishing: suddenly nebulae are visible at locations

Besides air turbulence, the brightening of the night sky is the biggest obstacle to observing faint objects beyond the solar system. Street lamps and other artificial lighting mean that the sky in human settlements is no longer really black. This affects the contrast and thus the perception of deep-sky objects. Depending on the type of celestial object, however, part of disturbing artificial light can be filtered out, making it easier to observe fainter targets.The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC CITY LIGHT SUPRESSION - or CLS - filter uses the fact that the artificial lighting is not evenly distributed over the entire spectrum. After three years of testing and refining we are extremely proud to present the new Explore Scientific High Resolution (HR) Coma Corrector. This corrector is a class of it´s own - it is fully functional for visual use and expands the focal length by only 6%! The Explore Scientific Coma Correktor is delivered as a complete set together with a rotating helical focuser with laser-etched scale, so you get a full package: corrector, adaptor to T2 (M42x0.75mm), adaptor to M48 (M48x0.75) and the helical focuser for visual fun.
This coma corrector really is "high resolution" - it deliveres a visual polystrehl performance of 0,98 at f/4 and 0,96 at f/3! So it can stay in the telescope - and you will not only enjoy a tack-sharp Jupiter, but aslo sharp and defined moons in the future!
What this means in terms of performance is shown in the three pictures with the graphs - the sharpness increase in those comparisons with and without corrector are stunning (examples are 400mm f/4, f/3,5 and f/3).
Please notice: These graphs are for FLAT FIELD! You will get this performance without refocussing!
Diameter of the field is 30mm - it doesn´t make sense to increase this with 2" and fast optical systems. Length of the 2" corrector barrel is approx. 85mm and it can be used with almost all 2" focusers on the market. To use the HR Coma Corrector visually, you need to have at least 32mm spare inward travel at your focuser, while the focus is on the same plane as the focusers end. Photographically there is no problem - the HR Coma Corrector shifts the focus outward by about 35mm, so that you will have no problem in achieving focus, when you are able to focus your camera without the HR Coma Corrector.

The Mount The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo Mount is equipped with a modern and highly precise GoTo control system. It consists of a robust Wi-Fi controller unit that provides all necessary interfaces. The NEMA-11 stepper motors are directly connected to this unit via cable, and an ST-4 compatible autoguider port is also included. The control system supports micro-stepping for precise tracking.
Intuitive operation via app and graphical star map The ExploreStars app, developed specifically for the PMC-Eight system, impresses with a very well-designed, intuitive graphical interface. The current alignment stars for initializing the control and all sky objects in the database are displayed as a star map with additional text information. All of these objects can be conveniently viewed and selected.
Powerful controller unit with Open GoTo for customization The heart of the controller unit is a completely autonomous 2-channel multi-processor with 8 CPUs and a Wi-Fi Ethernet 10/100 adapter with IP functionality. This allows remote control via browser, ASCOM, app, or serial connection. The Open GoTo system also enables custom firmware to be written and uploaded to the controller unit, allowing individual customization of the device's functions and the creation of your own object lists, etc.
Polar scope included The pre-assembled polar finder scope included in the set enables a quick and precise polar alignment, allowing long exposure times without unwanted star trails. The integrated LED illumination unit further enhances the comfort of using the polar finder.

The BRESSER Messier GoTo control, allows you to operate your telescope with the included computer handbox. After entering the basic data such as date, time and location, at least 1 known reference star is approached and confirmed. The new BRESSER Messier 12" Dobson enhances this well-liked telescope series while providing great portability due to its lightweight fibreglass telescope tube.
Despite its low price, it offers a variety of functions as well as quality that you would not find in considerably more expensive devices. Thanks to the powerful telescope aperture of 305 mm, you get significantly more light-gathering capacity than with the smaller models and are therefore not limited to observing the moon and the planets of our solar system - you can already look far out into the universe and observe globular clusters, nebulae and galaxies with even greater brightness. Details become visible in most deep-sky objects: globular clusters are clearly resolved into individual stars and gas nebulae, which can only be guessed at with smaller devices, show structure. The device is unrivalled in its versatility: The excellent large Hexafoc focuser has an aperture of 65 mm - so there is no noticeable obstruction from the focuser tube even with large wide-field eyepieces. Thanks to the large altitude wheels, even these heavier eyepieces are held effortlessly. And if a particularly large number of accessories is attached, such as a binocular attachment, then the entire tube can be moved inside the tube clamps - and everything is balanced again in a flash. The unrivalled rigidity of the focuser makes focusing easy - so photography with this tube is also possible. This is another strength of this universal telescope: if you want to take photos, you can simply unscrew the altitude wheels from the tube and attach it to an equatorial mount using a dovetail bar - so there's nothing standing in the way of astrophotography. An optional 10:1 gear reduction for the focuser is available for the highest demands. Considering that the focuser is the most frequently used part of the telescope, the use of the Hexafoc in this device is a quantum leap for this price range. This groundbreaking focuser, tube rings with 44mm universal standard dovetail and camera mounting feature and a high-end finderscope with haircross and laser-engraved scale leave nothing to desire even for demanding astrophotographers. The NT-203s/800 Hexafoc has a classical tube construction with an aluminium tube. The focuser can be upgraded with a 10:1 reduction (part No. 0625720) without problems. This groundbreaking focuser, tube rings with 44mm universal standard dovetail and camera mounting feature and a high-end finderscope with haircross and laser-engraved scale leave nothing to desire even for demanding astrophotographers. The NT-203s/800 Hexafoc has a classical tube construction with an aluminium tube. The focuser can be upgraded with a 10:1 reduction (part No. 0625720) without problems. Also prepared for use with the HR Coma Corrector (part No. 0510330) which eliminates coma, field-curvature and astigmatism. BRESSER EXOS-2 GoTo Equatorial Mount. Mount, tripod and hand box with computer. This German mount has tracking motors in both axes that follow celestial objects very precisely. The handbox with GoTo works reliable and controls the mount in every situation. Precise ball bearings in both axes ensures minimal backlash at all nine possible tracking speeds. The battery pack (12 V) is conveniently fastened to the tripod shelf and takes eight size D batteries.
