Get started immediately with the smart telescope
The telescope is very easy to operate and can be started without much effort. The first steps only involve downloading the BRESSER PushTo Navigation Smart App and a brief initialization of the telescope. Then you will immediately see the current viewing direction via crosshairs on the star map displayed on the connected mobile device. This is made possible by the sensors integrated in the telescope and the Bluetooth connection to your mobile device. And thanks to the slip clutches built into both axes, you can easily move and adjust the optical instrument by hand.

Clever celestial navigation with the smart telescope
Once set up, simply select any object on the PushTo Navigation star map via touch, and navigation begins. The displayed direction arrows, which change in length and colour as you approach the object, guide you reliably to your destination. Meanwhile your telescope’s movements are mirrored on the star map in real time. Once you reach the destination, you can immediately marvel at the desired celestial body.
Alternatively, you can choose an object from the extensive database. Or make it even easier and opt for one of the preset sky tours for spring, summer, autumn, and winter. And you can quickly enjoy observing your favourite objects over and over again – just save them!

Impressive optics for compact and extensive objects
The powerful refracting telescope with an aperture of 80 mm shows you many of the most popular celestial bodies particularly bright and contrast-rich. The moderate focal length of 400 mm also allows for beautiful broad views of large objects such as open star clusters and bright nebulae. Warning notes
  • Check the solar filter before every solar observation and ensure that it is not damaged. Hold it against a strong light source to detect any possible cracks and/or holes. Do not use the telescope for solar observation, even if the solar filter is only slightly damaged. In this case, contact the manufacturer for the appropriate replacement parts.
  • Always use the included solar filter when observing the sun. Make sure it is correctly attached to the telescope according to the instructions. The use of the solar filter is only intended in connection with this telescope.
  • Never look at the sun through an eyepiece/telescope without a certified protection filter. A moon filter can never be used for solar observation. The moon filter is only suitable for moon observation. The solar filter must be mounted in front of the telescope opening, not at the eyepiece. Otherwise, the concentrated light beam through the optics will immediately destroy the filter foil, leading to severe eye damage, including permanent blindness.
  • Check the secure fit of the solar filter before each solar observation. An accidental detachment from the objective opening can lead to immediate and permanent eye damage and blindness.
  • If the solar filter cannot be securely attached to the tube, improve the fit by placing several self-adhesive felt strips or similar between the solar filter and the objective opening. Never use the solar filter if it cannot be properly mounted on the telescope. In such a case, always contact our customer service first.
  • Be extremely cautious when observing the sun. A brief look through the unprotected optics will immediately cause severe eye damage, potentially leading to complete blindness.
  • Children should not look at the sun through the telescope, even with the filter properly installed. Never leave children unsupervised.
  • Never leave the optics unattended. Children and inexperienced adults could point the telescope at the sun without proper precautions and lose their eyesight.
  • Do not observe the sun after eye surgeries or other eye conditions without prior medical consultation.
  • Wrinkles/creases in the film are normal and do not indicate a product defect.
  • Do not expose the device to high temperatures.
  • BATTERY WARNING AND SAFETY Safe handling and use of batteries and accumulators Read and follow these instructions before using the battery or accumulator. To the extent permitted by law, failure to comply with these warnings and instructions may result in any damage caused to your product not being covered by the warranty. In this document, the term "batteries" also includes accumulators. Follow these instructions to ensure optimal safety and performance: DO NOT use counterfeit batteries in products. Only use supplied batteries. Use the battery SOLELY for its intended purpose. Keep batteries out of the reach of children and pets. DO NOT use batteries that appear to be damaged, swollen, or modified. Do not use batteries that are leaking, emitting a smell, swollen, melted, or showing dents, rust, cracks, or scratches. This camera is very good for astrophotography with short exposure times, i.e. for celestial objects like the moon, planets or star clusters. For astrophotography with long exposure times for low light deep sky objects, like galaxies and gas nebulae, we recommend the BRESSER Full HD Deep-Sky Camera (Art. Maksutov Newton MN-152 David H. Levy Comet Hunter Telescope Highly corrected optic for wide-field observation and astrophotography. Developed in collaboration with the famous "comet hunter" David H. Levy. The Maksutov-Newton system does have some pros and cons respectively to the classical newtonian design. Apart from the higher price the main disadvantage is the higher weight - the thick corrector lens at the front is the cause for this. The main advantage of the Maksutov-Newton compared to the classical newton is the sharpness of the field of view. Classical newtonian telescopes do show a sharp pinpoint star image only at the middle of the field of view - outside the optical axis they have a dominant abberation, the so called coma. This is inherent in the newtonian design, and therefore valid for all newtonian telescopes of all brands and not caused by manufacturing tolerances. Coma distorts the star image - the pinpoint star shows a tail, just like a small comet. This decreases sharpness and contrast considerably. The Maksutov-Newton shows a much sharper star image - for most applications the coma is not visible. This results in a high contrast image all over the field of view - for visual observations and for astrophotography with DSLRs alike. This makes the Maksutov-Newton a ideal all-purpose telescope, that is able to show a sharp field without the need for additional correctors.
