BRESSER Twilight I telescope mount with tripod

The Twilight I is a light-to-medium-duty alt-azimuth mount and tripod designed to quickly and easily accept small to medium sized refractors, such as the AR102 + AR127s or ED102mm + ED127, and of course, the ED80mm. Lightweight, fast Newtonians will also match up nicely with the Explore Scientific Twilight I mount. As long as your telescope does not exceed 18 pounds and has a Vixen-Style Universal Dovetail bar for mounting the telescope to the mount head, you are good to go. The Twilight I alt-azimuth mount head is made of powder-coated aluminum and there are worm gears on both axes. The adjustable angle head can be tilted forward or back at a 45° angle to allow more clearance for your telescope so you can point it straight up for viewing at the zenith. The Allen hex wrench for doing the mount head adjustment can be safely stored at the integrated magnetic holder.  Slow-motion control cables are attached on the vertical and horizontal axes, and are easy to turn during the night, even with gloves on, due to the over-sized knurled knobs that are attached to the end of each cable. They can be attached to either side of each axis to accommodate right or left-handed users, or different types of telescopes (e.g. refractors vs. Newtonian reflectors) for ease of adjustment. The stainless steel tripod that comes standard with the Twilight I mount has adjustable legs and a wide foot print of 42 inches, which makes the tripod more stable. The MOBILE PORTA is a small transportable travel mount for fast observations and does not require time-consuming installation. Thanks to the new compact and lightweight design, it is ready for use in no time and is easy to transport. The angle of the new multi arm can be adjusted, allowing you to observe at the zenith - including with longer telescopes. In addition to these new functions, the mount also comes with the other tried-and-tested features of the Porta series, such as a slip clutch and fine adjustment. Easy to adjust The telescope can be moved by hand in all directions and is held in position by a slip clutch. This allows you to adjust the telescope to your desired object with ease. The angle of the new multi arm can be adjusted, allowing you to observe at the zenith - including with longer telescopes. The angle of the multi arm can be adjusted in 15-degree steps. The multi arm system also enables you to collapse the mount for easy transport and storage, e.g. in the Telescope and Tripod Bag 100 (item no. 35655). Vixen dovetail standard mount As with all Vixen mounts, the MOBILE PORTA mount uses the Vixen world standard dovetail adapter for the telescope connection. The MOBILE PORTA is recommended for telescopes with a maximum weight of 3.5 kg. Accessory storage The accessory holder features slots for your eyepieces. It can also be used to store smaller photography accessories. Thanks to its modern, precisely coated optics, it offers good imaging properties as well. The 102 mm aperture already collects a lot of light from the celestial objects. In addition, 102 mm aperture and 600 mm focal length result in an average focal ratio (ratio of aperture to focal length) of about 1 to 6 (F/6). Because of this average focal ratio the beginner’s telescope is an all-rounder for all celestial objects. So observe interesting details on the moon and planets with high magnifications. Or choose a medium to low magnification and admire the sight of open star clusters such as the Pleiades, globular clusters like M13 or gas nebulae like the Orion Nebula M42. Speaking of magnifications: How big will the celestial objects appear through this telescope for beginners? The aperture of 102 mm achieves a resolving power that easily allows magnifications of up to about 200x with sharp images. Technically, the telescope can do more. However, with increasing magnification, the images can become blurred. And the telescope is not the only factor determining the possible degree of magnification. The air turbulence in the atmosphere (seeing conditions) also plays a major role. Solid base for your celestial exploration – mount and tripod Found the perfect observation site? Then set up the telescope on the height-adjustable aluminium tripod with equatorial mount. The advantage of equatorial mounts: Unlike with an azimuthal mount, you don’t have to move both axes at the same time. Instead, one axis is simply aligned parallel to the Earth's axis at the beginning. In this so-called alignment, you point the axis in the direction of the polar star. After that, you can track the celestial bodies just on this one axis. Another benefit of this mount: you move the axes via two flexible shafts with fine adjustment. Perfect for delicate as well as comfortable adjustment and tracking of the entry-level telescope. To ensure that your accessories are always within reach during fascinating discoveries, there is an extra storage plate between the tripod legs.Keep track of things automatically: For this telescope’s equatorial EQ-3 mount, the tracking motor with item number 4951400 is available as an optional accessory. This eliminates the need to manually track a celestial object set in the telescope. The new BRESSER NANO AZ telescopic mount has been developed to ensure quick and easy operation. The mount is as easy to use as a photo tripod, it is just more stable and easily carries telescopes weighing up to 4 kg. The mount can be easily swivelled by hand to the left, right, up and down, making it really easy to use and with a weight of only 3.4kg, the mount is also easy to transport. Ideal for the easy entry, as a travel mount or for "quick observations". The telescopes are securely held by a clamp for 44mm prism rails, the so-called GP Level. This is an international manufacturer-independent standard, whereby all telescopes with such a GP prism rail can be installed on this mount. For example our BRESSER MESSIER lens telescopes AR-90s, AR-102xs, AR-102s, or our small Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes MC-90 and MC-102.
