Product information "LUNT B1200s Blocking-Filter in extension tube"

Blocking-filter in straight extension tube, for telescopes up to 1080mm focal length. Can only be used together with a LUNT H-alpha filter, or with a LUNT H-alpha telescope!

Lunt Solar Systems offers blocking-filters in different sizes, and alternatively in 90° star-diagonal housings or straight extension tubes. You can choose what blocking-filter you will use at your LUNT H-alpha Etalon system.

The B1200s is installed in a straight extension tube, for 1.25 inch (31.7mm) and 2 inch (50.8mm) focuser on the telescope side, and with T2 thread and 1.25 inch eyepiece connection on the eyepiece side. The B1200s can be used at LUNT H-alpha systems, if the used telescope has up to 1080mm focal length.

The blocking-filter can not be used without additional H-alpha filter system from Lunt Solar Systems! Blocking-filters are absolutely required for the safety and performance of H-alpha telescopes for solar observing. Lunt Solar Systems blocking-filters contain a unique filter system. We can only warranty safety or performance, if blocking-filter is paired with a H-alpha filter or H-alpha telescope of Lunt Solar Systems.

Never look at the sun with an unprotected eye or with a telescope not intended for solar observation! Never leave your telescope unattended while it is pointed at the sun! Other people who are unfamiliar with it might attempt to replace the block filter with another prism, unaware of how critical this filter is for safety. The components of Lunt-Solar-Systems telescopes are not interchangeable with those of other manufacturers. Lunt-Solar-Systems solar telescopes contain several different optical elements that have been precisely adjusted and mounted during manufacture. These systems require no maintenance. Never disassemble the telescope. Doing so will void the warranty, potentially leading to expensive repairs, and may cause future damage to your instrument, compromising your safety! Most Lunt-Solar-Systems telescopes and filters include a very sensitive optical component called an Etalon. These Etalons are built into the system to protect them as best as possible. Countless considerations have been made to ensure the best performance of this "heart" of every system, even under the daily stresses it inevitably faces, such as shocks and vibrations during transport or regular use. Nevertheless, it should never be dropped. Improper use of the telescope can damage the Etalon (not a warranty case) and render the system unusable until repaired. The instrument should always be stored in its original packaging or in the optional transport case (item number 0554010). Like any optical precision instrument, it should be stored in a dry environment. With proper care, you will enjoy your instrument for a lifetime!

LUNT PCUSB Pressure-Tuner Controller with USB

Electronic Control unit with USB connection for one LUNT Pressure-Tuner system.The PC-USB is a microprocessor controlled pressure control system that can be retrofitted to any LUNT instrument (except LS50THa) with Pressure-Tuner (PT), without return to the Lunt facility. A simple air-pipe connects the PC-USB to the Pressure-Tuner. All existing PT systems (except LS50THa) can be retrofitted via an included adapter to the pressure tuner knob. The PC-USB can be used at any altitude.The PC-USB controller can be manually operated directly by the control panel at the housing, or via a computer by USB connection (Windows 7 or higher needed). A USB cable with USB-B plug is necessary for operating by a computer, this USB cable is not included. You will find the software for download on this webpage above at the tab "Manuals".Upon power up the PC-USB will go thru a systems vent and ambient pressure set mode. This will take around 60 seconds. The PC-USB is a simple 2 button system. One button for increasing and one button for decreasing the PT pressure. Digital feedback and indicator lights are provided. The PC-USB is accurate to 0.027 Bar (0.4 PSI), providing very precise control of the pressure setpoint. The PC-USB will auto-compensate for fluctuations in internal pressure changes due to significant changes in temperature. The PC-USB can be user programmed to center wavelength set point. Due to the sealed nature of the system, the center wavelength set point will remain constant at any altitude at a given set pressure point. Because the PC-USB can provide closed-loop feedback of internal etalon pressure users can correlate change in pressure to doppler shifted events.Normally the telescope shakes while you are tuning mechanically. Especially if you use high magnification, for example for observing the Doppler effect at a filament. With the PC-USB system there will be absolutely no shaking of the telescope while tuning at all magnifications, so observing Doppler shifted events will become more comfortable.The PC-USB can run continuously on internal battery power for more than 8 hours.
