Warning notes
  • Safety instructions: There are certain dangers when observing the sun, regardless of the telescope used. Lunt-Solar-Systems places great emphasis on the safety of their products during manufacture. Your safety is the highest priority, and we ask that you carefully read the telescope manual before beginning solar observation. Please never disassemble the telescope! Never use it if it has been modified or damaged in any way! Always contact our customer service if you have any questions regarding the safety of your instrument. Never look at the sun with an unprotected eye or with a telescope not intended for solar observation! Never leave your telescope unattended while it is pointed at the sun! Other people who are unfamiliar with it might attempt to replace the block filter with another prism, unaware of how critical this filter is for safety. The components of Lunt-Solar-Systems telescopes are not interchangeable with those of other manufacturers. Lunt-Solar-Systems solar telescopes contain several different optical elements that have been precisely adjusted and mounted during manufacture. These systems require no maintenance. Never disassemble the telescope. Doing so will void the warranty, potentially leading to expensive repairs, and may cause future damage to your instrument, compromising your safety! Most Lunt-Solar-Systems telescopes and filters include a very sensitive optical component called an Etalon. These Etalons are built into the system to protect them as best as possible. Countless considerations have been made to ensure the best performance of this "heart" of every system, even under the daily stresses it inevitably faces, such as shocks and vibrations during transport or regular use. Nevertheless, it should never be dropped. Improper use of the telescope can damage the Etalon (not a warranty case) and render the system unusable until repaired. The instrument should always be stored in its original packaging or in the optional transport case (item number 0554010). Like any optical precision instrument, it should be stored in a dry environment. With proper care, you will enjoy your instrument for a lifetime!

LUNT O-ring for Pressure-Tuner at LS50THa solar telescopes
Spare part for Pressure-Tuner of LS50THa H-alpha solar telescopes from LUNT SOLAR SYSTEMSA rubber O-ring is installed into the Pressure-Tuner of Lunt Solar Systems LS50THa solar telescopes to seal the air-pressure tuning system. Over time, the rubber of this O-ring can age and become porous, whereby the air-pressure can then no longer be maintained. When this happens, the old O-ring can be replaced by this spare part. The replacement is simple and can be done by the user. Installation instructions can be found here under the tab "Manuals" as a PDF for download. After replacing the O-ring, the piston and cylinder of the Pressure-Tuner can be re-greased with grease available under part number 0558350.Please note that this spare part can only be used on the Lunt Solar Systems LS50THa H-alpha solar telescopes. EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 3" 0.7x Reducer/corrector
The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC 3" 0.7x Reducer/corrector, reduces a compatible telescope's focal length by a factor of 0.7x (for around f/8) and 0.8x (for around f/10) respectively. The reducer/corrector not only reduces the focal length but also flattens the field. Although originally developed for the Explore Scientific ED-APOs 127mm and 152mm, the reducer can be used with many systems - for example with the Explore Scientific ED-APOs 102mm and 165mm (please note, this will not work on the Explore Scientific 80mm ED Apo refractors though). With certain telescope focal lengths, a slight restriction of the correction at the edge of the image field can be expected when using full-frame sensors. This unit comes with 3" barrel adaptor for direct focuser thread M54x0.75 (the standard focuser thread of the Explore Scientific Essential series of ED Apos) and T2 camera adaptor. This reducer/corrector features a free aperture of 65mm, so that it can be used even with cameras that have a large sensor - if the telescope allows for this. Note: As previously mentioned, this Reducer/corrector comes with a screw on ring, which fits the standard focuser thread of the Explore Scientific Essential series of ED Apos. For telescopes which are equipped with the 2.5" HEX Focuser, the optional screw-on adapter part no: 0510366 is needed. Other telescopes, not in the Explore Scientific range, with standard 2" push-fit focusers will need the Explore Scientific 2" Adaptor for 3" Corrector - part no: 0510364 to get this reducer correctly fitted. SPECIFICATIONS Reduces the focal length by 0.7x at f/8 Flattens the field for astrophotography Developed for ED127 und ED152 APO telescopes Also fits Explore Scientific ED102 and ED165 telescopes - and others Free aperture: 65mm Inner thread for telescope adaption: M76x0.75mm Outer thread for camera adaption: M72x0.75mm 3" focuser barrel adaptor included Adaptor for Explore Scientific focuser M54x0.75mm included T2 camera adaptor M42x0.75mm included Diameter: 78.5mm; length: 100mm Length without adaptors: 52mm Weight without adaptors: 530g What's Included Reducer/Flattener 3" focuser barrel adaptor Adaptor for Focuser M54x0.75mm T2 camera adaptor M42x0.75mm Dust caps

LUNT LS50THa/B600PT H-alpha solar telescope
A very compact, complete telescope for observing the sun in H-alpha light. The LS50THa solar telescope offers 50 mm free aperture, 350 mm focal length, and provides a bandwidth of <0.75 Angstrom. The telescope is fitted as standard with the air-pressure tuning system "Pressure-Tuner", the Etalon is safely installed inside the telescope. Prominences and surface detail can quickly be viewed spontaneously. This very portable system is an ideal travel companion for wherever you go.A B600 blocking filter is installed inside the star diagonal. The B600 offers a larger field of view than the smaller B400 and is very good for visual solar observing. Focusing is achieved by a non-roting Helical focuser. Please note that there is only a small back-focus at this telescope, therefore solar-imaging is very difficult. The LS50THa is designed for visual solar observing. We recommend for imaging the 60mm telescopes of the LS60MT series. Also double-stacking with a bandwidth of only <0.5 Angstrom is possible by using the additional available LS50C filter (0550210). This filter threads directly onto the LS50THa telescope. Double-stacking will provide much more contrast, and more details on the sun will become visible.FEATURESAperture: 50  mmFocal Length: 350 mmBandwidth: <0.75 AngstromTuning: air-pressure tuning system "Pressure-Tuner"Blocking Filter: B600non-rotating Helical focuserTube-ring with 1/4-20 tapped base (standard thread for photo-tripods)Length: 37cmWeight: 2.1kgSCOPE OF DELIVERYLS50THa H-alpha Solar TelescopeB600 Blocking Filter in star-diagonalPressure-TunerTube ring with 1/4-20 connection for mounting on photo-tripodsnon-rotating Helical focuserInstruction manual

LUNT LS60MT/B1200R&P Multipurpose ED Telescope for Sun + Night-Sky
Modular designed multipurpose telescope, both for observing the sun in the H-alpha wavelength, as well as for night sky observations. Easy conversion between the different applications with a few simple steps. Excellent image quality due to 2-lens ED optics with 70mm aperture for night sky observation, and 60mm usable aperture for H-alpha solar observation. With innovative air pressure tuning system, high-quality 2 inch (50.8mm) Rack&Pinion (R&P) focuser, and B1200 blocking filter.Solar observing in H-alpha:The LS60MT/B1200 is a complete telescope for observing the sun in H-alpha light, with 60mm free aperture (no central obstruction) and 420mm focal length. The H-alpha wavelength is the most impressive way to observe the sun, showing protuberances at the sun's edge, filaments and flares on the surface, and much more. An internal Etalon filter achieves a bandwidth of <0.7 Angstrom with the innovative air pressure tuning system Pressure-Tuner. Tuning is done by slightly changing the air pressure in a pressure chamber inside the telescope. This changes the refractive index of the air, making it easy to tune to the H-alpha line. The pressure tuner guarantees a homogeneous image, without central obstruction, and a permanently protected Etalon without erosion. A set of collimating lenses installed in the telescope ensures best performance.Fine adjustment is achieved with a solid 2 inch Rack&Pinion focuser with 10:1 reduction.Blocking-filter is the B1200. The B1200 is very good for visual solar observing, and also for solar imaging. The star diagonal in which the blocking filter is installed, is equipped as standard for 1.25 inch eyepieces and with a T2 camera connection.Observing the starry night sky:The H-alpha Etalon system can be removed from the telescope in a few easy steps thanks to its modular design. The 2-lens ED refractor can then be used as a normal telescope with 70mm aperture and 420mm focal length for observation and photography of the night sky. The ED Doublet lens will offer an excellent image. It can be used with a standard 2 inch zenith mirror or other accessories at the R&P focuser, the back focus is 135mm.With an additional Amici prism, the telescope can of course also be used during the day for nature and landscape observations. This makes the LS60MT, with its small dimensions and low weight, also an ideal travel telescope for all applications!More applications:With additionally available accessories the LS60MT offers even more possibilities!- Double-StackThe LS60MT telescope can optionally be upgraded with the additionally available double-stack filters LS50FHa or LS60FHa (part numbers 0550200 and 0550250). These filters will be simply screwed on the front of the LS60MT, no additional adapters are necessary. Thereby a bandwidth of <0.5 Angstrom is achieved for H-alpha solar observation. Therefore much more details on the solar surface will become visible.- Solar observing in White-LightIf the H-alpha unit has been removed, of course either a sun filter to be installed in front of the objective, or a Herschel-wedge at the focuser can be used to observe the sunspots in White-Light.- Solar observing in Ca-K wavelengthCertainly, the Ca-K filter modules from Lunt Solar Systems can also be used at the LS60MT to observe and photograph super-granulation and other effects visible in this wavelength on the sun. This makes the LS60MT a completely universal usable telescope!FEATURES2-lens ED refractor, FPL-51Aperture: 70mmUsable aperture in H-alpha: 60mm (no central obstruction)Focal length: 420mmBandwidth: internal Etalon with <0.7 AngstromTuning: air pressure tuning system Pressure-TunerBlocking filter: B1200 with 1.25 inch and T2 connectionFocuser: Rack&Pinion focuser with 10:1 reductionTube-ring with 1/4-20 tapped base (standard thread for photo-tripods)Weight with H-alpha unit: 3.8kgWeight without H-alpha unit: 2.6kgLength with H-alpha unit and blocking filter: 40cmLength without H-alpha unit: 31cmSCOPE OF DELIVERYLS60MT Multipurpose TelescopePressure-TunerB1200 blocking filter in star-diagonal housing2 inch Rack&Pinion focuserTube ring with 1/4-20 connection for mounting on photo-tripodsTransport case (53x33x17cm)Instruction manual

With Feather-Touch focuser, advanced air-pressure tuning system, and B1800 Blocking Filter. The LS130MT is a triplet ED apochromatic refractor with modular design! The telescope can also be used for night sky observations, and with the optional available accessories also for observing the sun in the Ca-K wavelength and in White-Light!The LS130MT/B1800 is a complete telescope for observing the sun in H-alpha light, with 130mm free aperture (no central obstruction) and 910mm focal length. The higher resolution compared to telescopes with smaller aperture allows the observer to dive into the fine details and surface phenomena of our ever-changing Sun. The higher resolution allows higher magnifications, bringing the fine details of the Sun to life in the eyepiece or on the screen. An internal Etalon filter with the innovative air pressure tuning system Pressure Tuner achieves a bandwidth of <0.7 Angstroms. The tuning is done by slightly changing the air pressure in a pressure chamber inside the telescope. This changes the refractive index of the air, making it easy to adjust to the H-alpha line. The pressure tuner guarantees an homogeneous image without central obstruction and a permanently protected etalon without wear. A set of collimating lenses installed in the telescope ensures best performance.Fine adjustment is achieved by a 2" Starlight-Instruments Feather-Touch focuser with 1.5" travel and 10:1 reduction.Blocking-filter is the B1800. The B1800 is good for visual solar observing and also for solar imaging by cameras with small to large CCD chip. We recommend a LS130MT with B3400 blocking-filter by using cameras with very large sized CCD chips. The star diagonal in which the blocking filter is installed, is equipped as standard for 1.25" eyepieces and with a T2 camera connection. Also the LS130MT telescope is upgradeable with the additional available DSII double-stack system (item no. 0551690). The optional DSII system is a internal double stack module with Pressure Tuner, that provides a bandwidth <0.5 Angstrom. More details on the solar surface will become visible by reducing the bandwidth.Modular design:The H-Alpha Etalon system can be easily removed from the telescope. The 3-lens ED Apochromat can be used as a normal telescope for observation and imaging of the night sky. Also available is a Ca-K module (item number 0551697) specially developed for the LS130MT. This also allows to observe the sun in the blue calcium wavelength.A Herschel-wedge (item number 0558201) can also be used for observing the sun in white light. This makes the LS130MT a completely universal usable telescope!FEATURESTriplet ED apochromatic refractor, FPL-51Aperture: 130mm (no central obstruction)Focal length: 910mmBandwidth: internal Etalon with <0.7 AngstromTuning: air-pressure tuning systemBlocking-filter: B1800 with 1.25" and T2 connectionFocuser: Starlight-Instruments Feather-Touch focuser with 10:1 reductionTwo tube rings with carrying handleDove tail bar with GP level for astronomical mountsWeight: 12.1kgLength with blocking-filter and dew-shield: 100cmLength without blocking-filter and removed dew-shield: 80cmSCOPE OF DELIVERYLS130MT multipurpose telescopePressure-Tuner systemB1800 blocking-filter in star-diagonal2" Feather-Touch focuserTube-extension for using without H-alpha EtalonTube rings with dove tail barTransport case (92x42x35cm)Instruction manual

EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC ED APO 127mm f/7.5 FCD-100 CF HEX
Highly corrected 127mm air-spaced triplet apochromat (with three lenses) and carbon fibre tube and a 2.5" high-precision HEXAFOC focuser. NEW: Now with hybrid viewfinder shoe to accept different viewfinder holders.    Apochromats are the ultimate choice in small to medium sized telescopes: the combination of compactness, transportability, very high image contrast and sharpness together with excellent astrophotographic performance cannot be bested. The advances in glass manufacturing during the last few years have made true apochromats available to more astronomy enthusiasts than ever before. The new Explore Scientific FCD-100 CF Hex represents another major improvement in this field - the overall correction (colour and spherical) is setting new standards in this price class. The optical design shows a polystrehl value of 0.97 indicating a level of correction that is absolutely top of the line. This excellent apochromat is a very versatile telescope: its reasonably fast f-ratio makes for short exposure times when imaging deep sky objects, but it is still of a significant focal length, making higher power planetary and lunar observation comfortable without having to use really high magnification eyepieces. The high contrast and sharpness of the image provide breathtaking views of large objects like the North America nebula or the Andromeda galaxy, as well as tack sharp planetary images. The telescope is lightweight and compact - the dew shield slides down the tube to minimize size for transportation. Revolutionary glass and precision manufacturing come together to deliver a telescope that offers observing and imaging at the highest level. The Carbon Fibre construction allows this telescope to be used on lower capacity mounts, increasing convenience and portability. Although there are smaller instruments available, the combination of aperture and optical excellence at such a low weight and compact tube makes this an excellent travel scope. The well-designed 2.5" HEXAFOC focuser with 10:1 reduction is perfect for both visual and astrophotographic use - the large inner diameter of 65mm prevents vignetting by the focuser when the telescope is used for astrophotography with large sensors (full frame and above). We offer the very popular EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC Triplet ED APO Refractors in 3 different product lines:Essential Line: HOYA FCD-1 Glass lens, AL-Tube, 2.0" Rack & Pinion Focuser with 1:10, 2.0" Star Diagonal 99% Reflectivity (see Part No. 0112084(AL), 0112106(AL), 0112132(AL)), 0112155(CF + 3"FT)). Professional Line: HOYA FCD-100 Glass lens, AL/CF-Tube, 2.5" HEXAFOC Focuser with 1:10, 2.0" Star Diagonal 99% Reflectivity (see Part No. 0112086(AL), 0112108(AL), 0112109(CF), 0112134(AL), 0112135(CF))High-End Line: OHARA FPL-53 Glass lens, Carbon(CF) Tube, 3.0" Feather-Touch Focuser with 1:10, 2.0" Star Diagonal 99% Reflectivity (see Part No. 0112165(CF))SPECIFICATIONSAperture: 127mmFocal Length: 952mmFocal ratio: f/7.5Design: Apochromat with three lenses, two air spaces and FCD-100 glassWeight: 5.2kg, lightweight due to carbon fibre tubeBackfocus: 150mm above 2" adaptorHybrid viewfinder shoe to accept different viewfinder holdersWHAT'S INCLUDED Optical tube with retractable dew-shield2.5" HEX focuser with 1:10 gear reduction  2" Star Diagonal 99% reflectivityTube rings with dovetail plate and handle Extension tubes for focuser (2pcs)Dust caps for front-lens and focuserHybrid viewfinder shoe
