An optional polar meter is available, which enables you to locate the celestial pole when it is hidden by trees or buildings. OPTIONAL POLAR FINDER SCOPE The innovative polar finder scope provides a new way to polar align your telescope. Simply align the stars in the crosshair reticle with the same stars in the night sky. Polar alignment is achieved using 3 reference stars. The polar finder is illuminated to facilitate orientation and switches off automatically after 3 minutes to save battery power. OPTIONAL POWER SUPPLY The RA and DEC motor modules are powered by four AA alkaline, Ni-MH or Ni-CD batteries. The RA motor module has a USB Micro-B port for an external power supply. A USB power pack or car charging cable can be used for longer observation sessions. OPTIONAL STAR BOOK ONE CONTROLLER The STAR BOOK ONE is a multifunctional and intuitive controller that tracks in the RA and DC axis with a range of different speeds. The tracking options are designed for time lapse cameras at a wide range of speeds, including sidereal, lunar and solar rates. The controller also offers many useful functions such as backlash compensation, autoguider port, PEC and a built-in red LED light. The Vixen Porta II is a high-quality azimuthal mount from the award-winning manufacturer Vixen. The MOBILE PORTA is a small transportable travel mount for fast observations and does not require time-consuming installation. Thanks to the new compact and lightweight design, it is ready for use in no time and is easy to transport. The angle of the new multi arm can be adjusted, allowing you to observe at the zenith - including with longer telescopes. In addition to these new functions, the mount also comes with the other tried-and-tested features of the Porta series, such as a slip clutch and fine adjustment. Easy to adjust The telescope can be moved by hand in all directions and is held in position by a slip clutch. This allows you to adjust the telescope to your desired object with ease. The angle of the new multi arm can be adjusted, allowing you to observe at the zenith - including with longer telescopes. The angle of the multi arm can be adjusted in 15-degree steps. The multi arm system also enables you to collapse the mount for easy transport and storage, e.g. in the Telescope and Tripod Bag 100 (item no. 35655). Vixen dovetail standard mount As with all Vixen mounts, the MOBILE PORTA mount uses the Vixen world standard dovetail adapter for the telescope connection. The Twilight I is a light-to-medium-duty alt-azimuth mount with tripod designed to quickly and easily accept small to medium sized refractors, such as the AR102 + AR127s or ED102mm + ED127, and of course, the ED80mm. Lightweight, fast Newtonians will also match up nicely with the BRESSER Twilight I mount. As long as your telescope does not exceed 18 pounds and has a Vixen-Style Universal Dovetail bar for mounting the telescope to the mount head, you are good to go. The Twilight I alt-azimuth mount head is made of powder-coated aluminum and there are worm gears on both axes. The adjustable angle head can be tilted forward or back at a 45° angle to allow more clearance for your telescope so you can point it straight up for viewing at the zenith. The Allen hex wrench for doing the mount head adjustment can be safely stored at the integrated magnetic holder.  Slow-motion control cables are attached on the vertical and horizontal axes, and are easy to turn during the night, even with gloves on, due to the over-sized knurled knobs that are attached to the end of each cable. They can be attached to either side of each axis to accommodate right or left-handed users, or different types of telescopes (e.g. refractors vs. Newtonian reflectors) for ease of adjustment. The stainless steel tripod that comes standard with the Twilight I mount has adjustable legs and a wide foot print of 42 inches, which makes the tripod more stable.
