Vixen SXP2WL-R200SS Telescope Set
SXP2WL mount with fast R200SS reflector telescope (f4) in a complete set for professional astrophotographersWith this telescope set, you can start your exciting hobby immediately. It includes everything you need for astronomical observation: the powerful Newtonian telescope, an automatic mount with tracking and GoTo function, a tripod, and two eyepieces. The SXP2WL mount is equipped with the PFL-II polar finder for quick and easy alignment using reference stars as well as a Wifi module for wireless operation with a smartphone or tablet. This way, your telescope will automatically move to the objects you have selected. Over 259,000 celestial objects are already stored in the STAR BOOK APP. The R200SS Newtonian with its very short f4 focal ratio was optimized for photography and delivers sharp and high-contrast images. This bright and fast f-ratio allows you to capture breathtaking images of galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters in a short amount of time. This telescope is also perfect for comet hunting. It is also ideal for visual observation with its sharp images without chromatic aberration. You will be thrilled when you take a look at the Moon's surface with its many craters or observe Saturn with its rings. The SXP2WL mount is easily operated via a Wifi module with a smartphone or tablet. The free STAR BOOK Wireless app is available for user-friendly mount control. With this, you can easily use practical sky navigation functions like automatic GoTo slewing to specific celestial objects through your smartphone or tablet. Because the power consumption of the conventional LCD screen (STAR BOOK TEN) is eliminated, the power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20 %. This enables longer periods of astronomical observations and astrophotography. Selecting a celestial object from a list will automatically move it into the telescope's field of view, and tracking will begin. An existing STAR BOOK TEN controller can also be used with this mount without problems. Equipped with the same precision stepper motors as the top model, the AXD mount, the SXP2WL brings a new standard of performance and precision to the Vixen mount family. The cross-axis of the SXP2 mount, with its 17 kg photographic payload, weighs only 13.3 kg, making it excellent for mobile observations. Additionally, the motors mounted on the lower part of the mount also act as counterweights, requiring fewer additional weights for balance. Larger bearings are installed in the SXP2 mount than in previous models to improve accuracy and load capacity. The mount housing is also made of stronger materials. To make the polar block even more stable, the cross-axis is firmly clamped into a fork. The Vixen R200SS Reflector Telescope in Detail The highly light-gathering f/4 200 mm optics of the R200SS come with a parabolic primary mirror, delivering extremely sharp images without chromatic aberration. A special coating (state-of-the-art technology) provides the optimal surface for observing and photographing deep-sky objects. Vixen has developed a unique aluminum vacuum coating system that produces highly precise mirror surfaces. This revolutionary system allows greater precision through controlled coating of the primary mirror. This coating is also used in the Vixen VC200L. With its large aperture and short focal length, the R200SS telescope is ideal for astrophotography of nebulae, star clusters, and comets. When used with an optional coma corrector Art. X000150 (not included), it produces sharp images to the corners of a full-frame DSLR. The focuser features a 60 mm thread, allowing you to use 2-inch eyepieces with the appropriate adapter. The SXP2 Mount in Detail Stronger Mount HousingIn the SXP2 mount, larger bearings were installed than in previous models to improve accuracy and load capacity. Additionally, the mount housing is characterized by higher material thickness. To make the polar block even more stable, the cross-axis is firmly clamped into a fork. Very Precise Tracking with P-PEC FunctionThe SXP2 mount is delivered with the modern STAR BOOK TEN controller. It offers you the P-PEC function for particularly precise tracking. The abbreviation "PEC" stands for "Periodic Error Correction". The system corrects mechanical errors caused by periodic gear system inaccuracies. The SXP2 equatorial mount is equipped with a P-PEC function, which evolved from the PEC function. The P-PEC function saves your correction records even after the mount is powered off. This way, you don’t need to re-enter the data every time, allowing for faster operation and more precise tracking. Low-Noise Belt Drive System with Minimal PlayIn traditional motor-driven equatorial mounts, gears are used that are driven by the motor. However, this construction has the disadvantage of introducing some play between the gears. To avoid the resulting inaccuracies, the SXP2 mount features a belt drive system. This significantly reduces both gear play and motor noise. Furthermore, the device responds more quickly when corrections are required. 16 BearingsThe mechanical components of the SXP2 mount feature a total of 16 bearings. A set of tapered roller bearings is used for the RA axis to provide more stability for precise tracking. Stable Altitude Block for AlignmentThe SXP2 mount uses the same fork as the heavier AXJ mount. This new construction enables quick and stable latitude adjustment. Simple and Precise Polar Alignment Using Reference StarsThe 6x20 polar finder is pre-installed. This allows you to set polar alignment (for both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres). The polar finder provides a variable illuminated reticle with an automatic shut-off function. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 steps to suit your individual needs. Additionally, the polar finder features direct alignment using three reference stars and can achieve an accuracy of up to 3 arc minutes. Variable Mount HeadThe mount head has a diameter of 35 mm and eight threaded holes for M8 screws, arranged at 45-degree intervals. An optional accessory plate can be attached directly or in combination with an optional mounting block for dovetail plates. Additionally, the threaded holes on the mount head allow for the use of rails from other manufacturers. Combination of Innovative, Elegant Design and User-Friendly OperationThe stable, stiff mount body with very precise tracking has been further optimized with the P-PEC function. As a result, the SXP2 is a highly accurate and easy-to-use mount that will thrill every astrophotographer and observer. Special Motor Mounting for Fewer CounterweightsThe heavy RA and DEC motor units are mounted in the lower part of the declination axis, positioning the center of gravity of the cross-axis beneath the RA and DEC axes. This way, the declination body acts as a counterweight. Additionally, the flat mount head allows the mount to be balanced with significantly fewer counterweights. Retractable Counterweight BarThe counterweight bar is made of solid stainless steel and has a diameter of 20 mm. You can use it with all counterweights from the SX and GP mount series. The counterweight bar is housed within the declination body. Accessory ShoeFor simple and quick polar alignment, the #35511 Polar Meter can be slid onto this shoe. Latitude AdjustmentThe latitude can be adjusted between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3 zones and adjustable +/- 15 degrees per zone, for high, medium, and low latitudes). The Vixen Wifi Adapter in Detail The Vixen Wifi adapter for EQ mounts allows you to control your Vixen mount via a smartphone or tablet. Using the free Smartphone App STAR BOOK Wireless, you can navigate the sky without cables. The app transforms your mobile device into a control system for the equatorial mount in no time. The response delay of the mount, which is typically the biggest drawback of wireless connections, has been reduced to a level comparable to wired solutions. Reduced Power Consumption Compared to Conventional Controllers with LCD MonitorThe mount's power consumption is reduced by up to 20%, enabling longer observations compared to conventional wired controllers like the STAR BOOK TEN. Operation Similar to the STAR BOOK TEN ControllerThe STAR BOOK Wireless App is similar to the STAR BOOK TEN controller. It contains up to 259,000 celestial objects, depending on the star chart settings. Tap an object in the list, and the GoTo process starts. The mount will automatically move the object into the telescope's field of view. All the popular features of the STAR BOOK TEN remain available. Comfortable OperationWhile looking through the telescope, you operate the mount by swiping on the app's star chart. With no buttons, you simply glide your finger across the star chart to comfortably control the mount. Comprehensive Astronomical Data IncludedIn addition to well-observed celestial bodies such as Messier objects, NGC objects, IC objects, the sun, moon, planets, comets, and dwarf planets, a vast amount of astronomical data is included. Highly Accurate AlignmentAligning to one or two stars gives you a reasonably accurate mount position. Aligning to three or more stars allows for highly accurate alignment for high magnifications. Objects will be positioned precisely and centrally in the telescope’s field of view. The alignment information is saved and can be retained even when the device is powered off. By leaving the telescope in its current position after finishing an observation, you can restart automatic installation with the same settings during your next observation. Customizable SettingsThe app, like the STAR BOOK TEN controller, offers various custom settings such as gear backlash compensation, night mode in red, autoguider support, and variable GoTo speed and LED brightness. You can also customize the timing of the tube flip (meridian flip) to your liking. Even if the object moves south during tracking, you can prevent the telescope tube from flipping.
