A new apochromatic refractor with high performance Super-ED glass (= SD). The FPL53 glass reproduces an extremely clear and sharp image by an exceptionally high degree of elimination of residual chromatic aberrations. The advantage of these SD refractors is their short length and low weight. The SD glass is designed to bring all beams of violet, red, blue, yellow and green very precisely together on the same plane. The special lens material, reduces chromatic aberration across all colors. The Vixen flip mirror is an ingenious solution for viewing in a straight line or at a 90-degree angle. The viewing angle can be changed by turning a wheel. The main connection features a 50.8 mm barrel, which is then reduced to one of the two 31.7 mm receptacles. There is also a T2 thread for a DSLR camera when the 31.7 mm eyepiece is removed. This allows you to connect your camera directly to the telescope with an optional T2 ring. This adaptor connects accessories with the large open diameter of the M48x0,75 thread to the 2,5" Hexafoc. This avoids the vignetting that is caused by adaptors with a smaller diameter - ideal for astrophotographical accessories like off-axis guiders.The adaptor is made from black anodized aluminium.

Camera specific bayonet adapter (camera ring) for Nikon DSLR with M48x0.75 mm internal thread for astrophotography. By using the large thread M48x0.75 mm, the vignetting of e.g. a DSLR full format sensor is effectively avoided. Compared to the small T2 thread M42x0.75, this adapter has a free inner diameter of 41.2 mm. This camera ring is made of matt black anodised aluminium and weighs only 30 grams.
