This high-quality Newton telescope set impresses with its large 200 mm aperture and fast f-ratio for photography. The telescope is manufactured in Japan and scores with its excellent workmanship, sharpness, and contrast performance. The advantage of this telescope lies in its low weight and short focal length. Thus, it is perfectly suited for large deep-sky objects.
You will be amazed when observing the moon's surface with its craters or Saturn with its ring system. On Jupiter, in a good night many small details in the cloud bands will be visible, such as the Great Red Spot on the planet. In moonless nights, you can observe the Andromeda Nebula, Orion Nebula, Eagle Nebula, Lagoon Nebula and many other interesting fainter objects. The brighter globular clusters can also be easily resolved into individual stars.
The fast f/4 ratio makes this telescope perfect for photography. With it, you can quickly achieve a great photo and don't need endlessly long exposure times. Optimise the image quality with the optional flattener Art. No. X000150. This flattener optimises the image up to the corners of a full-frame DSLR camera. The large 60 mm eyepiece drawtube of the telescope also allows for mounting heavy cameras without tilting. The stable metal tripod allows for a vibration-free setup of the telescope and mount even in windy weather.
The SXD2WL mount is easily operated via a Wifi module with a smartphone or tablet. The user-friendly control of the mount is available through the free STAR BOOK Wireless app. This enables you to utilise practical features of celestial navigation, such as automatic GoTo swivelling to specific celestial objects, very easily via your smartphone or tablet. As the power consumption of the conventional LCD screen (STAR BOOK TEN) is eliminated, the power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%. This makes longer astronomical observations and astrophotography possible.
When you tap the desired celestial object from a list, it automatically swivels into the telescope's field of view, and tracking begins. An existing STAR BOOK TEN controller can also be used on this mount without any problems. Equipped with the same precision stepper motors as the flagship model, the AXD mount, the SXD2WL introduces a new standard of performance and precision in the Vixen mount family.
The cross of axes of the mount has a photographic carrying capacity of 15 kg while weighing only 9.2 kg, making it excellent for mobile observations. Additionally, the motors located in the lower part of the mount also serve as counterweights. This means that the mount requires fewer weights for balance.

Precision stepper motors and Micro-Step Motion Control System
The heart of the SXD2 is the precision stepper motors, offering better performance and response than previous models. The Micro-Step Motion Control System features powerful yet very quiet drive properties, suitable for both fine movements and rapid swivels.
Built-in bearings
The bearings of the RA and DEC axes and the worm shafts have been significantly improved to reduce the load on the motors. As a result, the motors move much quieter than in previous models.
High-precision worm gears
Advanced manufacturing technologies have eliminated errors in worm gear drives. The edges of both the worms and worm gears are exceptionally smooth, allowing very precise tracking.
Declination axis as counterweight
The massive motor units are built into the lower part of the declination axis, lowering the centre of gravity of the SXD2 right below the intersection of the RA and DEC axes. This reduces the need for additional counterweights.
Latitude adjustment
The latitude is adjustable between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3 zones and adjustable +/- 15 degrees per zone, for high, medium, and low latitudes); latitude scale in 2-degree steps; fine adjustment with a tangent screw head, about 0.8 degree per turn.
Built-in PFL-II polar finder with lighting
The built-in 5x20 mm polar finder with a 10° field of view has a 3-star alignment system. This eliminates the tedious setting of date and time. The illuminated reticle with variable brightness and automatic shutdown is adjustable in 8 stages and illuminated in red. The alignment accuracy is 3 arc minutes.

The Vixen Wifi adapter for EQ mounts enables you to control your Vixen mount via a smartphone or tablet. With the smartphone app STAR BOOK Wireless (free), celestial navigation becomes easy and wireless. Thus, the app instantly turns your mobile device into a controller for the equatorial mount. The response delay of the mount, the biggest disadvantage of wireless connections, has been reduced to a level comparable to wired solutions.

The power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%, enabling longer observations than with traditional wired controllers such as the STAR BOOK TEN.
Operation similar to the STAR BOOK TEN controller
The STAR BOOK Wireless App is set up similarly to the STAR BOOK TEN controller. Depending on the star chart setting, it contains up to 259,000 celestial objects. Tap on a celestial object in the object list and start the GoTo. The mount now automatically moves to this target and brings it into the field of view of the telescope. All popular features of the STAR BOOK TEN are retained.
Convenient operation
While looking through the telescope, you control the mount by swiping across the star chart in the app. Since there are no buttons, you simply glide your finger across the star chart to comfortably operate the mount.
Comprehensive astronomical data included
This includes data on easily observable celestial bodies such as Messier objects, NGC objects, IC objects, as well as the sun, moon, planets, comets, and dwarf planets.
High-precision alignment
Alignment on one or two stars already provides a fairly accurate positioning of the mount. Aligning on three or more stars allows for very precise alignment of the mount for high magnifications. The SLV eyepieces with high-quality lanthanum glass provide remarkably clear and high-contrast images of the night sky right to the edge of the field of view. The lanthanum elements almost completely eliminate chromatic aberration, producing a colour-neutral image right up to the edges. The lenses are also fully multi-coated for high light transmission.
The eyecup can be twisted up and down, making the eyepiece suitable for glasses wearers. The large exit pupil distance of 20 mm means that the eye does not become fatigued during longer periods of use, and the entire field of view can be seen clearly even when wearing glasses.
The eyepiece also features a standard 1.25" filter thread for colour and nebula filters. In addition, the insides of the eyepiece sleeves are fully blackened to reduce distracting reflections.

Adjusting your eyes to the dark surroundings is very important when making astronomical observations.
In dark areas, it is very difficult to use astronomical equipment without a suitable light.
With normal lights, however, the light intensity is more important than protecting your eyes against bright light.
Using these lights at night makes your pupils contract, which can make it difficult for your eyes to readjust to the darkness.
The SG-L01, our first astronomy LED lamp, featured a built-in red LED that provided a solution to this problem.
However, the red light did not offer optimal visibility. On our new astronomy LED light, the SG-L02, the LED lights produce warm light to improve visibility.
They also ensure that your eyes stay adapted to the dark.
The LEDs do not emit light in the sensitive range of 555 nm.
The brightness of the white light can be adjusted between 3 and 42 lumen, while the red light can be adjusted between 0.28 and 7.62 lumen.

The Vixen 60DA Focal adaptor connects your Canon EOS DSLR Camera to a telescope with an appropriate 60 mm Focuser Drawtube Thread. Thanks to the use of new materials and an improved design Vixen was able to considerably uprate both precision and durability, when compared to conventional rotational camera adaptors. Two sets of rotational locking bolts (Long and Short) are supplied. The longer ones are knurled and easy to turn by hand. The shorter options help to prevent marring of the camera casing, when using certain designs of camera and are also much less easy to turn by hand, increasing security if you need the camera locked in a particular rotational position for longer periods.
The large inner dimension of this adaptor prevents vignetting at the edges of the image when using full frame DSLR cameras.

Made in Japan and designed for astrophotography, this premium extender lens system converts the R200SS parabolic mirror Newton reflector into an F5.6 astrograph. The Extender PH kit was developed to increase the focal length by a factor of 1.4x
It increases the focal length of the 800 mm (F4) R200SS Newton reflector to 1120 mm (F5.6).
The optical system structure of 4 elements in 3 groups corrects the coma error to render sharp images up to the edge of the field of view.
The extender illuminates the field of a full-frame camera (44 image circle).
When used in combination with the eyepiece adapter, the 31.7 mm eyepiece can be used for visual observations.
The same anti-reflective AS coatings used on our high-end VSD 100 f/3.8 astrograph are also used here to provide an outstanding light transmission of 99.9% per lens surface.

Objects appear three-dimensional and lifelike due to the Greenough design with two inclined objectives. The 3D image also makes working with tools (e.g. preparing, dissecting, soldering) much easier.The zoom allows stepless adjustment of magnification with a zoom factor of 4.0 (1x-4x). Only minimal refocusing is needed when zooming. For this, the Advance ICD has a coaxial focus drive with coarse and fine adjustment. This allows particularly sensitive focusing at high magnifications or for photography. The fine focus is also a great aid for focus stacking, e.g. with our MikroCam cameras (optional).The interpupillary distance is individually adjustable. Both eyepiece holders have a dioptre adjustment, allowing differences in visual acuity of up to approx. 8 dpt between the left and right eye to be compensated. The 10x widefield eyepieces with a field number of 22 are equipped with removable rubber eyecups. This allows large image fields to be captured. Depending on the microscope model, the entire eyepiece field of view can be documented with this camera (for a 10x / 22mm eyepiece). Other cameras often capture less than 50% of the eyepiece image field.
The Sony IMX183 CMOS sensor has extremely low noise at high light sensitivity, making this camera also excellent for darkfield or phase contrast imaging.
The MikroCam Lab II software offers a variety of functions, such as measurement in live image (calibration slide required), mosaic image creation, focus stacking (for increased depth of field). All automatic functions (exposure time, sensitivity, white balance, etc.) can also be set manually.
Due to the large sensor, the camera is not optimal for every microscope. Vignetting may occur in some cases. This shading is usually corrected by a 1x optic (item no. 5914001), which is screwed into the camera.
This camera is not designed for the trinocular tube of the ETD-201. Only a small part of the image field can be used with this microscope.

This is precisely where our aspherical mirror optics come into play. The VISAC primary mirror (= Vixen Sixth-Order Aspheric Cassegrain) is specifically designed for astrophotography and delivers an entirely flat and true-colour image across the image frame.
