SXD2WL VC200L Cassegrain Telescope Complete Set with GoTo Mount, Tripod, and Eyepieces
This high-quality telescope set impresses with its large 200-mm Cassegrain mirror optics optimized for photography with a flattener. The telescope is manufactured in Japan and scores with its excellent workmanship, sharpness, and contrast performance. The advantage of this telescope also lies in its short, open design and its low weight. Thus, the optics cool down faster than a closed system.
The VISAC primary mirror (= Vixen Sixth-Order Aspheric Cassegrain) is specially designed for astrophotography and delivers a completely flat and color-true image across the entire field of view.
Spherical aberration, coma, and field curvature are absolute foreign concepts for this optic.
The reason for this is the three-lens field corrector in front of the convex secondary mirror.
Although the telescope is optimized for
astrophotography, it can of course also be used for
visual observation. A special coating technique (state-of-the-art technology) provides the optimal mirror surface for observing and photographing deep-sky objects. It allows for controlled coating and individually corrects errors on the mirrors. You will be amazed when you observe the
moon's surface with its craters or Saturn with its
ring system. On Jupiter, on a good night, many smaller details in the cloud bands will be visible, as well as the Great Red Spot on the planet. On moonless nights, you can observe the Andromeda Nebula, Orion Nebula, Eagle Nebula, Lagoon Nebula and many other interesting faint objects. The brighter globular clusters can be easily resolved into individual stars.
This telescope set "Made in Japan" simply leaves no wishes unfulfilled. The large 60-mm eyepiece drawtube allows for the attachment of heavy cameras without tilting. In addition, the supplied flip mirror
enables comfortable observation even in unfavorable observing situations and
also offers a T2 thread for connecting a DSLR camera. Thus,
you can observe in straight view or at a 90° angle. The carrying handle attached to the tube clamps ensures safe transport of the telescope. The sturdy metal tripod allows for a vibration-free setup of the telescope and mount even in windy weather.
The SXD2WL mount is simply operated via a Wifi module with a smartphone or tablet. For user-friendly control of the mount, the free STAR BOOK Wireless app is available. This allows you to use practical functions of celestial navigation such as automatic GoTo swivelling to specific celestial objects very easily via your smartphone or tablet. As the power consumption of the conventional LCD screen (STAR BOOK TEN) is eliminated, the power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%. This enables astronomical observations and astrophotography over longer periods.
By tapping the desired celestial object from a list, it automatically swivels into the telescope's field of view and tracking begins. An existing STAR BOOK TEN control can also be used on this mount without any problems. Equipped with the same precision stepper motors as the flagship model, the AXD mount, the SXD2WL brings a new standard of performance and precision to the Vixen mount family.
The axis cross of the mount has a photographic carrying capacity of 15 kg while weighing only 9.2 kg, making it excellent for mobile observations. Moreover, the motors located in the lower part of the mount also serve as counterweights. This means the mount requires fewer weights for balancing.

Built-in bearings
The bearings of the RA and DEC axes and the worm shafts have been significantly improved to reduce the load on the motors. As a result, the motors move much more quietly than in previous models.
High-precision worm gears
Advanced manufacturing technologies have eliminated errors in worm gears. The edges of both the worms and worm gears are exceptionally smooth, allowing very precise tracking.
Declination axis as counterweight
The massive motor units are built into the lower part of the declination axis, lowering the center of gravity of the SXD2 just below the intersection point of the RA and DEC axes. This reduces the need for additional counterweights.
Latitude adjustment
The latitude is adjustable between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3 zones and adjustable +/- 15 degrees per zone, for high, medium, and low latitudes); latitude scale in 2-degree steps; fine adjustment with a tangent screw head, about 0.8 degrees per turn.

Adjusting your eyes to the dark surroundings is very important when making astronomical observations.
In dark areas, it is very difficult to use astronomical equipment without a suitable light.
With normal lights, however, the light intensity is more important than protecting your eyes against bright light.
Using these lights at night makes your pupils contract, which can make it difficult for your eyes to readjust to the darkness.
The SG-L01, our first astronomy LED lamp, featured a built-in red LED that provided a solution to this problem.
However, the red light did not offer optimal visibility. On our new astronomy LED light, the SG-L02, the LED lights produce warm light to improve visibility.
They also ensure that your eyes stay adapted to the dark.
The LEDs do not emit light in the sensitive range of 555 nm.

The Vixen 60DA Focal adaptor connects your Canon EOS DSLR Camera to a telescope with an appropriate 60 mm Focuser Drawtube Thread. Thanks to the use of new materials and an improved design Vixen was able to considerably uprate both precision and durability, when compared to conventional rotational camera adaptors. Two sets of rotational locking bolts (Long and Short) are supplied. The longer ones are knurled and easy to turn by hand. The Reducer HD features the optical coating that was developed by Vixen for our high-end VSD100F3.8 astrograph. The AS coating provides light transmission of up to 99.9% per lens surface. The special matte surface in the interior also minimizes ghosting, light loss and lens flares.
Reducer HD in combination with SD telescopes
The Reducer HD can be used on telescopes from the SD series (SD81S, SD103S and SD113S) with the SD Flattener HD Kit (item #37246) . The Reducer HD reduces the focal length by a factor of 0.79x (f/7.7 to f/6.1) and delivers a razor sharp image over the entire 44 mm image sensor surface on DSLR cameras.
