Never look at the sun through an eyepiece/telescope without a certified protection filter. A moon filter can never be used for solar observation. The moon filter is only suitable for moon observation. The solar filter must be mounted in front of the telescope opening, not at the eyepiece. Otherwise, the concentrated light beam through the optics will immediately destroy the filter foil, leading to severe eye damage, including permanent blindness.
Never leave the optics unattended. Children and inexperienced adults could point the telescope at the sun without proper precautions and lose their eyesight.

SXP2WL SD115SII Complete Telescope Set with Wifi GoTo Mount, Tripod, and EyepiecesThis high-quality apochromatic refractor telescope-set impresses with its 115-mm-SD optics. The telescope is made in Japan and stands out with its excellent craftsmanship, sharpness, and contrast performance. The advantage of this SD refractor lies in its lightweight design and ability to produce color-pure and contrast-rich images. You'll be amazed when you observe the moon’s surface with its craters or Saturn with its ring system. On Jupiter, during a good night, you’ll even see the two bright cloud bands and many smaller details, such as the Great Red Spot on the planet. On moonless nights, you can observe the Andromeda Nebula, Orion Nebula, Eagle Nebula, Lagoon Nebula, and many more fascinating objects. Fainter celestial objects become visible thanks to this 115 mm wide aperture under a good sky. This telescope set "Made in Japan" leaves nothing to be desired. The FPL53 glass used in the telescope reproduces an extremely clear and sharp image by nearly eliminating any residual color errors. The SD glass is designed to bring all rays – violet, red, blue, yellow, and green – to the same plane. This special lens material reduces chromatic aberration across all colors. The new Vixen SD115SII has no spacers, which significantly improves image quality, especially for bright stars. In photographic images, no spikes are visible on the stars, which were previously caused by spacers. In combination with the optional SD Reducer HD Kit or SD Flattener HD (not included), this refractor telescope provides an image circle of 44 mm for full-frame DSLR cameras. The older ED81SII, ED103S, and ED115S refractors were originally developed for visual observers and photographers using APS-C cameras. However, the new SD series, with the use of new internal baffles, has been optimized for full-frame cameras. The large 60-mm focuser also allows for the attachment of heavy cameras without tilting. Additionally, the included flip mirror enables comfortable observation even in awkward situations and offers a T2 thread for attaching a DSLR camera. You can observe straight through or at a 90° angle. The carrying handle attached to the tube rings ensures a secure grip when transporting the telescope. The sturdy metal tripod ensures vibration-free mounting of the telescope and mount even in windy conditions. The SXP2WL mount is easily operated via a WiFi module with a smartphone or tablet. The free STAR BOOK Wireless app provides user-friendly mount control. With this app, you can use convenient celestial navigation functions such as automatic GoTo slewing to specific celestial objects easily through your smartphone or tablet. Since the conventional LCD screen (STAR BOOK TEN) is no longer required, the power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%. This allows for longer periods of astronomical observation and astrophotography.Select the desired celestial object from a list, and it will be automatically slewed into the telescope’s field of view, and tracking begins. An existing STAR BOOK TEN controller can also be used with this mount without any issues. Equipped with the same precision stepper motors as the top model, the AXD mount, the SXP2WL sets a new standard of performance and precision in the Vixen mount family. The cross-axis of the SXP2 mount has a photographic payload capacity of 17 kg and weighs only 13.3 kg, making it ideal for mobile observations. Additionally, the motors in the lower part of the mount also act as counterweights, reducing the need for additional weights. The SXP2 mount features larger ball bearings than previous models to enhance accuracy and load capacity. The mount housing is also characterized by greater material thickness. To make the polar block even more stable, the cross-axis is securely clamped into a fork mount.
The SXP2 Mount in Detail
Stronger Mount BodyThe SXP2 mount is equipped with larger bearings than previous models to increase accuracy and load capacity. Additionally, the mount body is characterized by a thicker material. To further stabilize the polar block, the cross-axis is securely clamped into a fork mount.
Very Precise Tracking with P-PEC FunctionThe SXP2 mount comes with the modern STAR BOOK TEN controller. It offers the P-PEC function for particularly precise tracking. "PEC" stands for "Periodic Error Correction". The system corrects mechanical errors caused by periodic gear errors. The P-PEC function available for the SXP2 equatorial mount is an enhancement of the PEC function. The P-PEC function stores your correction data even after the mount has been powered off. This means you do not need to re-enter the data every time, allowing for faster operation and more precise tracking.
Low-Noise Belt Drive System with Minimal BacklashIn conventional motor drive systems for equatorial mounts, gears are driven by the motor. However, this design has the disadvantage of creating some backlash between the gears. To avoid the resulting inaccuracies, the SXP2 mount features a belt drive system. This significantly reduces both gear backlash and drive noise. In addition, the mount responds faster when corrections are needed.
16 BearingsThe mechanical parts of the SXP2 mount contain a total of 16 bearings. The RA axis is equipped with a set of tapered roller bearings to provide more stability for precise tracking.
Stable Altitude Adjustment Block for AlignmentThe SXP2 mount uses the same fork as the heavier AXJ mount. This new design allows for quick and stable altitude adjustments.
Easy and Precise Polar Alignment Using Reference StarsThe 6x20 polar finder is pre-installed. This allows for polar alignment in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. The polar finder features a variable illuminated reticle with an automatic shut-off function. The brightness can be adjusted in 8 levels to suit your individual needs. Additionally, the polar finder is equipped with a direct alignment system using three reference stars and can achieve accuracy up to 3 arc minutes.
Variable Mounting HeadThe mounting head has a diameter of 35 mm and eight threaded holes for M8 screws, arranged 45 degrees apart. An optional accessory plate can be attached directly or in combination with an optional mounting block for dovetail plates. The threaded holes in the mounting head also allow the use of rails from other manufacturers.
Combination of Innovative, Elegant Design and User-Friendly Operation The stable, rigid mount body with very precise tracking has been further optimized by the P-PEC function. This makes the SXP2 a highly precise and easy-to-use mount, sure to delight any astrophotographer or observer.
Special Motor Positioning for Fewer CounterweightsThe heavy RA and DEC motor units are located in the lower part of the declination axis, placing the center of gravity of the cross-axis below the RA and DEC axis. This allows the declination body to act as a counterweight. The flat mounting head also enables the mount to be balanced with significantly fewer counterweights.
Retractable Counterweight BarThe counterweight bar is made of solid stainless steel and has a diameter of 20 mm. It is compatible with all counterweights from the SX and GP mount series. The counterweight bar is housed in the declination body.
Accessory Shoe The #35511 Polar Meter can be easily and quickly attached to this shoe for polar alignment.
Latitude Adjustment The latitude can be adjusted between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3 zones and adjustable +/- 15 degrees per zone, for high, mid, and low latitudes). The Vixen Wifi Adapter in Detail
The Vixen Wifi Adapter for EQ mounts allows you to control your Vixen mount via a smartphone or tablet. This enables you to use the STAR BOOK Wireless smartphone app (free) for celestial navigation without cabling. The app quickly turns your mobile device into a controller for the equatorial mount. The mount’s response delay, often considered the biggest drawback of wireless connections, has been reduced to a level comparable to wired solutions.
Reduced Power Consumption Compared to Traditional Controllers with LCD Monitor The power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%, enabling longer observation sessions compared to traditional wired controllers like the STAR BOOK TEN.
Operation Similar to the STAR BOOK TEN Controller The STAR BOOK Wireless App is similarly structured to the STAR BOOK TEN controller. Depending on the star chart settings, it contains up to 259,000 celestial objects. Simply tap on an object in the list and start the GoTo. The mount will automatically move to the target and bring it into the telescope’s field of view. All the popular features of the STAR BOOK TEN remain available.
Comfortable Operation While looking through the telescope, you can operate the mount by swiping on the app’s star chart. Since there are no buttons, you simply glide your finger over the star chart to easily control the mount.
Extensive Astronomical Data Included This includes data on well-observed celestial bodies such as Messier objects, NGC objects, IC objects, as well as the sun, moon, planets, comets, and dwarf planets.
High-Precision Alignment By aligning with one or two stars, you can achieve fairly accurate mount positioning. By aligning with three or more stars, a highly precise alignment for high magnifications can be achieved. Objects are then targeted precisely and centered in your telescope’s field of view. Alignment data is saved and can be retained even when the device is powered off. By leaving the telescope in its current state after an observation without moving it, you can start the automatic installation with the same settings during the next observation.
Customizable Settings Like the STAR BOOK TEN controller, the app offers various individual settings such as gear backlash compensation, red night mode, autoguider, variable GoTo speed, and LED brightness. You can also set the timing of the optical tube flip (meridian flip) as desired. Even if the object moves south during tracking, you can prevent the telescope tube from flipping.

Vixen has developed a new generation of SX mounts for demanding observers and astrophotographers. The
SX2WL mount is simply operated via a Wifi module with a smartphone or
tablet.
By controlling the mount with your smartphone using the free STAR
BOOK Wireless app, you can easily use sky navigation functions such as
automatic GoTo panning of celestial objects via your smartphone or
tablet.
By eliminating the power consumption of the conventional LCD (STAR BOOK TEN), the power consumption on the mount is reduced by up to
20%, thus enabling longer astronomical observation and
astrophotography. When the desired celestial object is
selected from a list, it is automatically panned into the telescope's
field of view and tracking begins. An existing STAR BOOK TEN
controller can also be used on this mount without any problems.
Equipped with the same precision stepper motors as the top model, the
AXD mount, the SXD2WL brings a new standard of performance and precision
to the Vixen mount family. With a photographic load capacity
of 12 kg, the axis cross of the mount weighs just 7.0 kg (15.4 lbs) making it ideal for mobile observations. In addition, the motors
mounted in the lower part of the mount also serve as a counterweight,
so the mount requires fewer weights for balancing. The SX2 mount in detail Precision
stepper motors and micro-step motion control systemAt the heart of the SXD2 are the precision stepper motors, which offer
better performance and response than previous models. The micro-step
motion control system offers powerful and yet very smooth drive
characteristics, which are given both in fine movements and in fast
pans. Built-in bearings The bearings of the RA and DEC axes and the worm shafts have been
significantly improved to reduce the load on the motors. As a result,
the motors move much more smoothly than in previous models. High-precision worm gearsHigh-precision processing technologies eliminate worm gear errors. The
edges of the two worms and worm wheels are particularly smooth,
enabling very precise tracking. Declination axis as counterweightThe solid motor units are installed in the lower part of the declination
axis so that the center of gravity of the SXD2 is below the
intersection point of the RA and DEC axes. This means you need fewer
additional counterweights. Latitude setting The latitude is adjustable between 0 and 70 degrees (divided into 3
zones and adjustable +/- 15 degrees per zone, for high, medium and low
latitudes); latitude scale in 2-degree increments; fine adjustment with a
tangent screw head, approx. 0.8 degrees per turn. The wireless module in detail The
Vixen Wifi adapter for EQ mounts allows you to control your Vixen mount
via a smartphone or tablet.
With the smartphone app STAR BOOK Wireless (free of charge) you can
navigate the sky without any cables.
The app turns your smartphone or tablet
into a control unit for the equatorial mount in no time at all.
The response delay of the mount, which is considered the biggest
disadvantage of wireless connections, has been reduced to a level
comparable to wired connections. Reduced power consumption compared to conventional controllers with LCD monitor The power consumption of the mount is reduced by up to 20%, allowing longer observations than with conventional
wired controllers such as the STAR BOOK TEN. Operation similar to the STAR BOOK TEN controllerThe STAR BOOK Wireless app has a similar structure to the STAR BOOK TEN controller.
Depending on the star map setting, it contains up to 259,000 celestial objects.
Tap on a celestial object in the object list and start the GoTo.
The mount will now automatically move to this target and bring it into the telescope's field of view.
All the popular features of the STAR BOOK TEN are retained. Convenient operation When looking through the telescope operate the mount by swiping on the app's star chart. As
there are no buttons, simply slide your finger over the star chart to
operate the mount conveniently. Extensive astronomical data included In addition to data on easily observable celestial bodies such as
Messier objects, NGC objects and IC objects, this also includes the sun,
moon, planets, comets and dwarf planets. High-precision alignment By aligning the mount to one or two stars, you can already achieve
fairly precise positioning.
By aligning the mount to three or more stars, you can achieve
high-precision alignment of the mount for high magnifications.
The objects are then approached precisely and centrally in your telescope's field of
view.
The alignment information is saved and can be retained even when the
device is switched off.
By leaving the telescope in its current state after completing an
observation without moving it, you can start the automatic installation
with the same settings for the next observation. Individual setting options As with the STAR BOOK TEN control unit, the app offers various individual settings, such as gear backlash compensation, night mode in red,
autoguider and variable GoTo speed and LED brightness.
You can also set the timing of the reversal of the objective tube (meridian flip) as desired.
Even if the object moves to the south during tracking, you can prevent the telescope tube from reversing. Important note: Cannot be used on old SX mounts with the old blue Star Book! Technical information about the Wifi module: CPU with 32-bit CISC processor 120 MHz The unit is connected to the mount via a D-SUB 9PIN connector as with the STAR BOOK TEN.
