Vixen VSD70SS F5.5 Astrograph Telescope
Fast 70mm high-performance astrograph F5.5 designed for demanding astrophotographers and observers, featuring 5 lens elements in 5 groups With its sophisticated optical design incorporating five lens elements in five groups (Quintuplet), including two SD (Super ED) lenses and one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens, this astrograph delivers a virtually aberration-free optical system. The convex lens utilises two SD lenses and a high-refractive ED lens, while the front lens is crafted from a newly developed high-performance lanthanum glass. Perfect for astrophotography and visual observation This revolutionary astrograph is compatible with digital full-frame DSLRs and even larger 44 x 33 mm cameras. With its fast F5.5 aperture ratio, the 70mm astrograph produces exceptionally sharp, high-contrast, pinpoint stars from the centre to the very edges of the field of view. Not only is it ideal for astrophotography, but it also excels in visual observation, offering a wide field of view for deep-sky objects and delivering stunning detail in planetary observation with high magnification. Consistently sharp imaging across the entire field The VSD70ss is designed with a long peak range in focus adjustment accuracy, making it easier for astrophotographers to achieve consistently outstanding results. Even if the focus isn’t set perfectly, stars remain round and sharp across the entire image field. The VSD70ss is very temperature-resistant so that you always keep a very stable focus point. Minimal vignetting for uniform illuminationMost astrographs experience some level of optical vignetting (light gradually diminishes towards the image edges). This is mainly caused by the rear lenses being shadowed by the front lenses. As a result, photographers often need to apply image corrections or capture additional flat frames beforehand. The VSD70ss tackles this issue with large-aperture lenses in the rear elements and preserves over 90% of the light all the way to the edge of its 55mm image circle. The result is uniform brightness across the entire field, eliminating the need for extensive post-processing to compensate for edge darkening. The VSD70ss features cutting-edge multi-coatings with exceptionally high reflectivity. These coatings have been specially designed to optimise the performance of each individual lens element, ensuring maximum contrast and light transmission without degradation across multiple lenses. Note: *Mechanical vignetting may still occur depending on the camera system used, particularly due to the camera body or incorrect adapters. 96.7% Strehl for stunning visual observations When paired with a wide-angle eyepiece with low magnification the VSD70ss offers a flattened large field of view. Even with a high-quality wide-field eyepiece with a large field of view, stars appear sharp across the entire field of view during visual observation. At the centre of the field, the telescope achieves an impressive 96.7% Strehl intensity at visible wavelengths—surpassing even the acclaimed SD81SII apochromat with its 95.7% Strehl ratio. This superior optical quality is also evident when observing the Moon and planets at high magnifications. Large, versatile, and stable focuser The VSD70ss has a large focuser with a diameter of 87.5mm to make optimum use of the large 55mm field of illumination. Designed to support a wide range of accessories, this large focuser is perfect for astrophotography, accommodating everything up to large-format cameras or 35mm full-frame DSLR cameras. Its precision manufacturing ensures excellent stability, preventing any tilting even when using heavy imaging equipment. Optional VSD reducer for even faster resultsThe new reducer has been specially developed for the VSD90ss and the VSD70ss. At a focal ratio of 1:3.9. the photographer gets even faster results in astrophotography. Compatible with motorised focusersTo enable sensitive focusing, an optional dual-speed motor focuser is available for the VSD70ss. Additionally, an EAF (Electronic Automatic Focuser) from ZWO or a compatible system can be retrofitted. Vixen AXD2 with VMC 260 Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope
AXD2 GoTo mount with VMC260L telescope set The AXD2 mount comes with the new STARBOOK TEN controller and the PFL polar viewfinder, which allows you to configure the mount quickly and easily via reference stars. This telescope set has everything that you need for hobby astronomy. The set includes a telescope, a mount with automatic tracking and a stable tripod. Featuring the STARBOOK TEN controller, the telescope locates celestial objects automatically so that you don’t need to search for them manually. Even if you’re not an expert, you can still give your friends an exciting tour through the night sky! The AXD 2 mount in detail: Robust construction and lightweight housing with 30 kg load capacity (photographic) The RA and DEC axes are made using the A7075 superalloy, one the strongest aluminium alloys. The stability of the A7075 superalloy is stronger than titanium, which is known for its strength as a lightweight material. Its thickness is 38% less than titanium. Using the A7075 superalloy for the axes ensures that the AXD mount is both lightweight and stable. 21 bearings The rotating parts of the AXD mount have a total of 21 bearings. These ensure uniform motion in order to swivel the telescope and track objects. Stepper motors Vixen uses precise stepper motors for the mount in order to ensure optimal performance. The motors are controlled via a micro-step motion control system, which eliminates the disadvantage of stepper motors with large steps. The system generates 400 impulses per second at a high speed. This results in very quiet scanning with no vibrations. The stepper motors on the AXD mount have sufficient torques. This is most significant when working at high magnifications and photographing with a CCD camera with small pixel sizes. Worm gears The sizes of the worm gears were increased in the latest Atlux version. The AXD mount has 270 teeth in the RA axis and 216 teeth in the DC axis. Both axes are 50 mm in diameter. This ensures that the mount operates with precision and stability. Low backlash The Vixen micro-step motion control system ensures that the stepper motors run uniformly at low and high speeds. This eliminates the need for reduction gears in the motor and therefore reduces the backlash in the gears. Elegant design The flat sides of the mount were designed based on previous generations of the New Atlux range. The white and silver housing provides a modern and elegant exterior with high functionality. The AXD is the flagship model in the Vixen mount range. Original motor layout The solid RA and DEC motor units are arranged in the lower part of the mount. This means that they automatically act as a counterweight. As a result, you require far fewer weights on the counterweight bar. On small devices, no counterweight is required. The counterweight bar can be slid fully into the housing. Polar finder scope The AXD mount is equipped with a 6x20 polar finder as standard. The polar finder features an integrated scale, which provides a quick and easy way to polar align the telescope in the northern hemisphere. For observations in southern latitudes, the polar finder features an image of the Octans constellation, which can be aligned with the night sky. VPEC periodic error correction Periodic errors on mounts are usually measured and corrected by the user. Unlike the old StarBook controller, the STAR BOOK TEN controller saves these errors permanently. The periodic error of the mount is measured in the factory and corrected before delivery. This is known as VPEC and functions automatically as soon as you use the mount. It delivers an accuracy of +/- 2.8 arc seconds. You can increase the tracking accuracy further by saving your own recorded periodic errors. The VMC 260 in detail The optics of the VMC260L are significantly better than the traditional Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. Despite its high 3000 mm focal length, it is just 650 mm long. Featuring a large 260 mm aperture, the telescope collects large amounts of light for serious professional observations and photography of the planets and countless deep-sky objects. Thanks to the dielectric mirrors, the VMV260L guarantees razor-sharp images and maximum brightness. The open lens barrels cool the telescope quicker than conventional closed Cassegrain systems. The telescope can be used with an optional 0.62x focal reducer to reduce the aperture ratio to 1:7.1. This shortens the exposure times and allows you to photograph large objects. The telescope comes with a standard dovetail bar and a carry handle that doubles up as a camera holder for night sky photography. FEATURES AXD2 GoTo mount with VMC260L telescope Professional telescope kit with TR102 tripod Mount with 30 kg load capacity (photographic) Modern STARBOOK TEN controller with autoguider input More than 270,000 pre-installed celestial objects Illuminated polar finder with direct star alignment Professional Maksutov-Cassegrain with 260 mm aperture Very stable metal observatory column Total weight: 70.1 kg WHAT’S INCLUDED P85 observatory column 2 counterweights (1.5 kg and 7.0 kg) 7x50 finder scope Folding mirror Carry handle

Vixen Telescope SDP65SS Astrograph
The Vixen SDP65SS is a compact astrograph that delivers exceptional imaging quality at a more accessible price than the VSD telescope series. Designed specifically for astrophotography, this telescope features a four-element, four-group optical system incorporating both an SD (Super ED) lens and an ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lens. The result is outstanding image performance comparable to that of the VSD series. Thanks to its compact size and retractable dew cap, the telescope is an ideal travel companion for mobile astrophotographers. Purpose-built for astrophotographyThe SDP65SS has been purpose-built for astrophotography and features four elements made from SD glass, high-refractive-index ED glass and lanthanum glass. The arrangement of the lenses is optimised for maximum performance, significantly reducing axial chromatic aberration and achieving the same level of astigmatism correction as the VSD telescope series.Exceptional image field flattening The optimised arrangement of the four lenses made from SD and ED glass achieves an exceptionally flat image plane without the need for an additional flattening lens. It provides a high degree of correction and produces distortion-free star images across the entire 44 mm illuminated field of view. Minimal vignettingTo reduce vignetting, the light beam is narrowed at the final lens element. Thanks to the optical design, vignetting is virtually eliminated, ensuring excellent edge illumination with almost any camera system. Over 90% of the light is captured at the edge of a 35 mm full-frame sensor, reducing the need for extensive image processing afterwards. Newly designed focuserFocusing is achieved via a rack-and-pinion system that moves the lens assembly forwards and backwards. As the focuser body itself remains stationary, there is no tilting, even when using heavy accessories or cameras. A built-in vernier scale provides a clear reference for focus position, marked in 0.1 mm increments. Vixen AX103S apochromatic Refractor - optical Tube
The AX103S is a top-of-the-range ED apochromat in the refractor series. It features a triplet ED object lens and a rear-mounted field-flattener lens. The f8.0 refractor contains a central ED lens in the objective and reduces chromatic aberration to an absolute minimum. An optional focal reducer can reduce the aperture ratio to 1:5.6 in order to provide quicker results for astrophotographers. The built-in field flattener lens provides a sharp image across the entire field of view – an essential requirement in astrophotography. The 60 mm ring on the focuser allows you to attach a 2’’ eyepiece or accessories and a camera adapter. The AX103S is specially designed for photography, but also offers stunning visual performance, especially for observing the moon and the planets. The AX 103S is corrected for full frame photography and provides razor-sharp pictures right into the corners of the image field. This telescope is guaranteed to provide a lifetime of outstanding performance! Vixen Focal Reducer V0.71x VSD90ss/VSD70ss
Focal length reducer for the VSD90ss and VSD70ss with two ED lenses designed for high-end astrophotographyThe two ED lenses maximise the photographic performance of the VSD90ss and the VSD70ss, which are designed for both photography and visual observation. The reducer can illuminate an image circle of 44 mm (suitable for a 34x36 full-frame format). The reducer has a very sophisticated design as it contains four elements in four groups, including 2 ED lenses. Thanks to its larger lens diameter, it offers significantly improved image illumination compared to its predecessor, the smaller V0.79x reducer. The star distortion at the edges is also reduced to an absolute minimum. The focal length of the VSD90ss telescope is shortened by about 0.71x and the focal ratio is reduced from 5.5 to 3.9. This results in a super-fast f3.9 astrograph, capable of fully illuminating a full-frame DSLR camera.FEATURES    Magnification: 0.71x    Focal length VSD90ss: from 495 mm (F5.5) to 351 mm (F3.9)    Illumination: 44 mm    Lens design: 4 elements in 4 groups, including 2 ED lenses    Coatings: AS coatings (99% light transmission per surface)    Connection thread: M84mm, pitch 1 mm (male thread)    Connection thread for a camera: M60 mm, pitch 0.75 mm    Filter thread: 60 mm diameterSCOPE OF DELIVERY    Focal Reducer V0.71x    2 mm Allen keys    Dust caps
