A classic for a start - the telescope With the classic reflector telescope, a so-called Newtonian reflector, you’ll achieve a successful start in sky observation. A special feature of this type of telescope is that you don’t look in at the back of the telescope, but at the side in the front. The advantage is the comfortable observation position. So you don't have to bend down when the entry-level telescope is pointed vertically into the sky. In terms of optics, these reflecting telescopes are impressive in that they are absolutely free of chromatic aberrations and offer good imaging properties.
With its 114 mm aperture, the entry-level telescope already collects a lot of light from celestial objects. In addition, 114 mm aperture and 500 mm focal length result in a very short focal ratio (ratio of the aperture to the focal length) of about 1 to 4.4 (F/4.4). This causes the telescope to be very fast and to deliver an extremely bright image. The fast focal ratio and the short focal length cause the telescope to be a specialist for observing structures in the Milky Way and extended gas nebulae, for example the North America Nebula NGC 7000. This way a ''walk'' through the Milky Way with low magnification is simply a lot of fun. And you can choose the perfect place for it, because the entry-level telescope is very compact and therefore easily transported.
And how closely will you be able to look? The aperture of 114 mm offers a resolving power that allows magnifications of up to about 230x with sharp images. Technically, even higher magnifications are possible - theoretically up to 375x by using the included accessories. However, as the magnification increases, the sharpness of the image may slowly decrease. Of course, it is not only your telescope that determines how much you can magnify. The air turbulence in the atmosphere (seeing conditions) is also an important factor.
Note for nature lovers:
If you choose a Newtonian telescope like the Pluto reflector telescope, you can look forward to a specialist in astronomical observation. However, the image is always displayed sideways as well as upside down, which makes no difference when observing the sky. However, this type of telescope is less suitable for nature and landscape observations during the day. Would you also like to use your new telescope for exciting nature discoveries? The perfect foundation for your astro-start - mount and tripod
Have you found the ideal location for your celestial observations? Then simply attach the telescope tube to the height-adjustable tripod with equatorial mount. It makes tracking particularly easy, because in contrast to an azimuthal mount, you do not need to move both axes at the same time. So you simply align one axis parallel to the Earth's axis by pointing it approximately at Polaris. This process is called ''alignment''. After that, you track your celestial bodies only on this one axis. Another plus of the mount are the two flexible shafts with fine adjustment. They make adjusting and tracking the beginner's telescope particularly precise and comfortable. Very handy: A storage plate mounted between the tripod legs allows easy access to your accessories.Keep track of things automatically: For this telescope’s equatorial EQ-3 mount, the tracking motor with item number 4951400 is available as an optional accessory. This eliminates the need to manually track a celestial object set in the telescope. When this motor is installed at the mount, it automatically tracks the celestial object, keeping it in the field of view of the eyepiece. This makes observing the night sky even more comfortable!
Everything included - the accessories
Unpack, set up and start your journey of discovery across the night sky right away – for this purpose the astronomy set comes with all the necessary accessories. Get the perfect overview with the LED viewfinder. To do this, the viewfinder is simply installed parallel to the actual telescope. Turned on, it projects a red dot onto a small ground-glass screen. Look through it and it appears to hover in front of the night sky in exactly the direction in which you have aligned your entry-level telescope. Thus precise telescope alignment and finding celestial objects becomes child's play when you are using the LED viewfinder.
A larger field of view or more details? With the two eyepieces (4 mm and 20 mm) you can admire the objects in different magnifications. The 3x Barlow lens goes one better: it allows you to triple the magnification of the eyepieces.
But it doesn't have to stop there: If you ever want to expand your astronomy set, you can choose from a variety of additionally available eyepieces. After all, the socket diameter of 31.7 mm (1.25 inch) follows an international and manufacturer-independent standard.
Observe the star of our daytime sky completely safely – to this end a solar filter is included with the entry-level telescope. Take a closer look at the sunspots and marvel at the granulation on our very own star.

Classic telescope for a new generation of stargazers – the telescope
Children and beginners in particular benefit from the classic design of this lens telescope, which is also called an achromatic refractor according to Fraunhofer. This is mainly due to its easy handling – ideal for your fist steps in celestial observation. The entry-level telescope owes its good imaging properties to the optics’ modern, precise coating.
The 102 mm aperture already collects a lot of light from the celestial objects. But it is due to the very short focal ratio (ratio of 102 mm aperture and 460 mm focal length) of about 1 to 4.5 (F/4.5) that you can enjoy an extra-bright image. Another advantage of the combination of short focal length and fast focal ratio: the beginner's telescope shows you the details in the Milky Way and extended gas nebulae such as the North America Nebula NGC 7000 particularly impressively. This makes a ''trip'' through the Milky Way with low magnification so much fun. However, the telescope will also give you a lot of pleasure while travelling on Earth, because it is very compact and thus perfect as a travel telescope.
And what about the magnification? Here, too, the aperture of 102 mm shows its effect: It gives the telescope a resolving power that easily allows magnifications of up to about 200x with sharp images. From a purely technical point of view, this is by no means the limit – with the included accessories, you can theoretically magnify up to 345x. The image sharpness can slowly decrease with increasing magnification, though. However, the degree of magnification achievable does not only depend on your telescope. The air turbulence in the atmosphere (seeing conditions) also influences your astronomical observations.
Set up, align, start marvelling – mount and tripod
Found the perfect location for your observations? Then attach the telescope tube to the eight-adjustable aluminium tripod with equatorial mount and off you go. The special advantage of equatorial mounts: Unlike with an azimuthal mount, you don't need to move both axes at the same time. Instead, you align one axis parallel to the Earth's axis by pointing it approximately at the polar star. Then you simply track the movement of the celestial bodies just on this one axis.
Because you move the axes via two flexible shafts with fine adjustment, you can adjust and track the beginner's telescope very precisely and comfortably. And for quick access to all your accessories, simply place them on the tray between the tripod legs.Keep track of things automatically: For this telescope’s equatorial EQ-3 mount, the tracking motor with item number 4951400 is available as an optional accessory. Must-haves for star observation – the accessories
In order for you to start stargazing right away, the astronomy set comes with many accessories. With the LED viewfinder, you can easily keep track of the sky. Just install the viewfinder parallel to the actual telescope and it projects a red dot onto a small ground-glass screen. When you look through it, this dot appears to be floating in front of the sky. Not just anywhere, but exactly at the point at which your telescope aperture is currently pointing. This allows you to align your telescope more precisely and find the celestial objects you have chosen for your night-time exploration much more easily.
As with everything else, a change of perspective is always fun. Therefore, the two eyepieces (4 mm and 20 mm) allow you to view the objects in different magnifications – and thus enjoy completely different views. You want to see even more details? Then triple the magnification of the eyepieces with the 3x Barlow lens. The telescope for beginners is also flexible when it comes to upgrades: the diameter of the sockets is 31.7 mm (1.25 inches), which is an international standard that applies to all manufacturers. So you can choose from a large variety of additionally available eyepieces.
In order for you to explore the universe with ease, the 90-degree star diagonal mirror always offers a comfortable view into the beginner’s telescope. Even if the telescope is pointed vertically upwards into the sky, you simply look in from the side – and just enjoy the view.
But it is not only at night that the sky attracts our attention with spectacular highlights. In the daytime sky, our nearest star is particularly worth seeing. values. The adjustable red LED illumination unit is powered by two LR41
coin batteries. The main lens and the crosshairs can be focused
independently of each other, giving you perfect focus for your eyes.Compact tracking unit for autoguidingOne
of the main applications for this telescope is the so-called
autoguiding. Here the usually larger photo-taking optics are actively
corrected by a smaller guiding telescope with a second tracking camera.
This means that the mechanical fluctuations in the tracking accuracy,
which are present in all astronomical telescope mounts, are measured by
the tracking camera and compensated accordingly. This is necessary in
order to obtain a point-shaped star image on the astrophotos during long
time exposures and to avoid unwanted star trails. For this purpose, the
guiding telescope is inserted into the existing viewfinder shoe of the
photo-taking optics and aligned parallel. If the existing viewfinder
shoe is not compatible, a suitable viewfinder shoe is also included.
With the 1.25 inch / 31,7mm plug connection at the rear end or via T2
thread connection (M42x0,75mm), a tracking camera can be mounted
afterwards. This is held securely by a brass ring clamp and 3 clamping
screws. Please note the required back focus for your tracking camera.
The focal plane (backfocus) is approx. 22mm behind the T2 thread. The
sensitive focusing on the guiding star is done by a large knurled wheel
of the mechanically precise manufactured helical focuser. For easy
reproduction of the point of focus, this has a white millimetre scale
from 0 to 28mm, which is attached by laser engraving. After the tracking
camera has been connected directly or via computer to the telescope
mount and the necessary basic settings have been made, the first
astrophotos with long time exposure can be taken.Use as mini travel telescopeThis
viewfinder and guide telescope can also be used quite simply as a mini
travel telescope. With the optional eyepieces, a magnification of 9x to 50x can be achieved. Nearly all eyepieces with a focal length of 5 to
26mm and 1.25 inch/31.7mm plug connection are suitable. Especially
recommended are the EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC eyepieces of the 52 degree (Art.
02195xx) and 62 degree (02196xx) LER series. Note: Only straight view
use is possible.Metal viewfinder holder and viewfinder shoeThe
mount of this viewfinder and guide telescope is completely made of
aluminium and is a stable base. The viewfinder mount is suitable for
many common types of telescopes, such as EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC, BRESSER

With the introduction of the 68° Series we are pleased to make two important improvements in eyepiece manufacture, the first being 15 layer Enhanced Multi-layer Deposition (EMD™) coatings on all glass-to-air surfaces to gain maximum contrast, and waterproofing the eyepiece with the use of Argon gas purging instead of standard Nitrogen gas. Although Nitrogen is a fine choice that will last for many years, Argon is a larger molecule that maintains its protective properties over a wider range of temperatures, and is even more resistant to diffusion thereby further extending the protective waterproof environment of the eyepiece body.
Through computer-optimized design, a careful selection of optical glasses, and enhanced multi-layer deposition coatings, the Explore Scientific 68° Series™ eyepieces produce long eye-relief and ensure high image-correction, a flat field, and high contrast across the entire image field. One of the most important obstacles for the exploration of the night sky is the brightening of the night sky by artificial lights, such as streetlights. The night sky is not really dark in the vicinity of towns or cities, which reduces the visibility of objects beyond the solar systems enourmously. Depending on the type of the celestial object it is possible to increase the contrast dramatically by blocking the annoying artifical light. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC O-III filter uses a characteristic property of the so called emmission nebulae. Those objekcts glow in special colors, the so called emmission lines. Those emmission lines are linked to chemical elements - in this case oxygen. The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC O-III nebula filter blocks all other colors (and thereby nearly all of the artificial light) and only the two emmission lines of the oxygen can pass the filter. The result is astonoishing: suddenly nebulae are visible at locations that were completely empty without filters. In suburbian skies for example the veil nebula NGC 6992 is almost not visible with a 200mm telescope. By using this filter you can see the nebula and its structures without problems. A must for every visual observer.

The BRESSER NightExplorer 7x50 astronomy binoculars are ideal for terrestrial observations in poor light conditions and discovering the night sky. They feature a 50-millimetre objective that lets in plenty of light. Thanks to the 7x magnification, objects that are 700 metres away appear to be just 100 metres in front of you. Compared with binoculars with a higher magnification, these binoculars allow you to see much more. At a distance of 1000 metres, the field of view is 126 metres wide. Coating
In order to further increase the light transmission and counteract reflections, the premium BaK-4 optics (barium crown glass) have a full multi-layer coating.
Focusing
The 7x50 Porro binoculars also feature an individual eyepiece focus to ensure that you obtain a sharp image. This is set at a large depth of field. You only need to adjust the focus if the next object is far away from the previous one. To view objects in the immediate vicinity, you can adjust the close focus from 8 metres.
Crystal-clear image, even when wearing glasses
The binoculars are also suitable for people with visual impairments: the rubber eyecups can be folded over so that you can look through the eyepieces while wearing glasses and see the entire field of view. The dioptre adjustment of +/- 6 allows you to compensate for small differences in vision between each eye.
Weatherproof and robust

Simply open it up, put it down and immediately produce green solar powerThe handling is very simple: unfold the solar panel and align it as perpendicularly as possible to the sun. Then connect the device to be charged to the solar charger, either with a suitable USB cable (not included) or with the included DC connection cable. The charging process begins immediately.
Which devices can the solar panel charge?
The solar charger gets all devices with a USB power supply connection or the above-mentioned DC power plug connection up and running again in no time – e.g. smartphones, tablets, power banks, portable playstations, MP4 players, GPS devices and Bluetooth headphones. It is also suitable for charging large power stations such as the BRESSER Power Station 100 Watt (art. no.3810000) and the BRESSER Power Station 500 Watt (art. no. 3810020) as well as power stations from other manufacturers with suitable connection values.Universal charger with flexible connection options Two black USB A sockets for normal charging and another orange USB A socket with QC3.0 standard for fast charging of newer generations of devices are available for powering your devices.

How long does it take to charge a battery?Most modern devices
with built-in batteries indicate the current charging status of the
battery on a display or status LEDs. The charging process is also
automatically terminated by the internal charger of the smartphone or
tablet, etc., as soon as the battery is full.Nevertheless, it is helpful to know how long a full charge theoretically takes with an empty battery. This is the only way to choose the right solar panel model for the requirements of the devices you want to charge.Here is a short calculation: Divide the
capacity of the battery (mAh) by the charging current of the charger
(mA) and multiply this by a factor of 75. This then gives you the
approximate charging time in minutes that is required to fully charge the battery at 100% sunshine duration.Example 1: A battery with a
capacity of 3000mAh (3.0 Ah) and a charging current via 5 volt USB
connection of 3400mA (3.4 amps). So 3000 : 3400 x 75 = 66 minutes.
Dividing the result by 60
gives the charging time in hours: 1.1 hours.This means that an average smartphone can be fully charged in just about 1.1 hours with a 90-watt solar panel. Example 2:
A large power station battery with a
capacity of 13000mAh (13.0 Ah) and a charging current via 18 volts DC
plug connection of 5000mA (5.0 amps). So 13000 : 5000 x 75 = 195
minutes.
Dividing the result by 60

In order to attach the solar panel securely to an object and align it perfectly with the sun, 4 sturdy snap hooks are included in the scope of delivery. Besides air turbulence, the brightening of the night sky is the biggest obstacle to observing faint objects beyond the solar system. Street lamps and other artificial lighting mean that the sky in human settlements is no longer really black. This affects the contrast and thus the perception of deep-sky objects. Depending on the type of celestial object, however, part of disturbing artificial light can be filtered out, making it easier to observe fainter targets.The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC CITY LIGHT SUPRESSION - or CLS - filter uses the fact that the artificial lighting is not evenly distributed over the entire spectrum.
